This World AIDS Day 2025, we honor those we’ve lost and stand with those living with HIV. It is a call to overcome barriers to care, break the stigma surrounding HIV, and transform the response to ensure access, support, and hope for all.

Let us continue advocating for accessible healthcare, ending stigma and discrimination, and supporting programs that protect the well-being of our communities. ❤

Every year, an estimated 15 million babies are born prematurely worldwide tiny fighters who begin their journey much earlier than expected. This year’s World Prematurity Day reminded us of their incredible strength and the importance of supporting families facing prematurity.

Last November 17, 2025, New Sinai MDI Hospital held a meaningful event to honor these brave little ones. Our guest speaker, Dr. Marian Colasito, shared valuable insights and heartfelt messages about caring for premature babies and supporting their families.

We extend our warmest thanks to everyone who attended, and to our dedicated NICU nurses whose tireless care and compassion continue to make a lasting impact. Your unwavering support for our premature babies and their families is truly inspiring.

At New Sinai, we stand with our community in spreading awareness, hope, and love for every child who begins life a little earlier than planned. 💜✨

New Sinai MDI Hospital is deeply honored to be featured in a powerful documentary produced by Channel News Asia, highlighting one of today’s most urgent public health concerns—drug-laced va**ng.

In this special report, the CNA team meets with various healthcare professionals to explore the growing lack of awareness about the long-term and often devastating health effects of va**ng. The documentary exposes how many v**e products today are no longer just ni****ne-based; instead, they are increasingly laced with dangerous and illicit substances such as etomidate, ketamine, cannabis, and even co***ne putting countless individuals, especially the youth, at serious risk.

As part of the feature, Dr. Riz Gonzalez of New Sinai MDI Hospital shared her professional insights on the dangers of va**ng. She emphasized that our lungs are not designed to inhale flavored chemicals, noting that this can lead to metaplasia, a known harbinger of cancer.

She also discussed a case involving an individual who had been using v**e for two years and eventually suffered a heart attack, highlighting the severe and often overlooked health consequences of va**ng. According to Dr. Riz, v**ers and smokers are victims of the industry, trapped by ni****ne addiction and targeted by aggressive marketing.

As a pediatrician, she strongly advocates for v**e products to be banned, stressing that children’s brains and bodies are still developing, making them especially vulnerable to the harmful effects of ni****ne and toxic substances found in v**e products.

At New Sinai MDI Hospital, we take immense pride in our dedicated physicians who consistently go above and beyond in serving our community. Their unwavering commitment to raising awareness, protecting public health, and advocating for the well-being of every individual especially the most vulnerable reflects the very heart of our mission.

We are honored to stand alongside medical professionals who devote their expertise and compassion to building a healthier, safer future for all.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Riz — from your New Sinai MDI Hospital Family! 🎉

We investigate how sweet flavours and false claims are luring young people into the dark world of drug laced v**es.
