Based on Department of Health Omnibus Health Guidelines (2023), here are the indications for cancer screening.
Mammogram and/or breast ultrasound
-Every year for Female (50-69 years old), all cases
-Every 2 years for Female 40-49 years old, identified as high risk (risk factors: with family history or previous history of breast cancer)
Low dose chest CT scan
-Every year for 50 years old and above who are smoker or used to smoke; and/or with family history of lung cancer
Colonoscopy
-Every 10 years for 50 years old and above or with Positive FIT or FOBT test results. (Risk factors: family history, underlying condition(e.g., inflammatory bowel disease)
Alpha fetoprotein test and Liver ultrasound
-Every 6 months for patients with hepatitis B or C infection, heavy and prolonged alcohol consumption, cirrhosis, diabetes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, or inherited metabolic diseases
Deiparine Community Hospital is a Philhealth Benefit Provider for the following Outpatient Screening Test (Breast ultrasound, Low dose Chest CT scan, Alpha fetoprotein test and Liver Ultrasound) under the YAKAP program.
This program makes selected early detection tests more accessible and affordable for members by covering specific screening procedures and providing benefit rates for them. The goal is to reduce cancer-related deaths, alleviate the financial burden on families, and encourage timely screening for early detection.
How to avail:
1. Make a visit/consultation with your Primary Care Provider
2. If indicated, your Primary Care Physician will accomplish a request form.
3. Bring your request form to DCH.
4. After performance of the tests, patient will sign acknowledgement part of the request form.
5. DCH shall provide a copy of the result to the referring facility and to the patient in digital and/or printed forms.
6. PhilHealth beneficiaries availing for the first time, who obtained their request from their private, non-primary care physicians shall remain eligible for coverage. To ensure continuity of care, beneficiaries must be referred to their designated primary care provider following the release of screening results. For individuals who have not yet registered with a primary care provider, DCH and PhilHealth shall assist the beneficiaries in selection and registration to the primary care provider of their choice.
