We brought the Mont Eden Community Club outdoor - Active Aging Morning Walk at was a huge success!

35 people showed up bright and early to move, breathe, and spend time in nature together. It was truly heartwarming to see such a big turn out!

We started the morning with a gentle warm-up to wake up the body. From there, we moved into a silent walking meditation — no phones, no talking — simply allowing ourselves to reconnect with our senses and being present.

After the walking meditation, we continued with a relaxed walk through the park, enjoying each other’s company and the beautiful surroundings.

We then gathered for a healthy and delicious breakfast, followed by a fun nutrition sharing and quiz.

The Mont Eden Community Club started with the same heart we serve families every day, to support our community through all stages of life, today was a beautiful reminder that while we often talk about planning for the future, it is just as important to live well today.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and for the yummy breakfast and Coach Dana Purugganan for your nutrition and fitness expertise and insights!

Here’s to more movement, more connection, and living well together.

We wrapped the shoot. Then Vanessa Pla said, “Wait… I haven’t said this part.”

So we went back in.

She wanted her children to hear this:
Planning her own memorial isn’t about expecting death.
It’s about love.

It’s her way of saying,
“When my time comes, I don’t want you to be burdened. I want you to grieve in peace.”

We can keep death a taboo.
Or we can have the courage to talk about it and plan ahead for the people we love.

This isn’t about selling a plan.
It’s about protecting your loved one from stress, debt, and difficult decisions during their hardest day.

Sometimes, planning ahead is the most loving thing we can do.

We will pick a winner on March 8 to win a hand written quote by Vaneessa. To stand a chance to win, leave a comment on Vanessa Full Length Interview Video on Youtube (link in comment)

When Jhing Grace Cepe said she wanted to do her mother’s makeup herself, the closest family members gathered around. The room felt intimate.

As she carefully applied make up for Ma’am Ofelia, Tatay began sharing stories about how she loved cooking, how she found peace in gardening, and how her eyes would light up when talking about her flowers.

He spoke about working overseas his whole life, about the years spent away from home to provide for the family. In his absence, she carried everything here, the discipline, the nurturing, the decision-making, the everyday care. She was the steady center of the home. That moment reminded us what devotion truly looks like.

It looks like a wife who holds the family together while her husband sacrifices abroad.
It looks like a mother who fills both roles without complaint.
It looks like a grandmother whose love overflows into the next generation.

At Mont Eden, we witness many farewells. But moments like this remind us that behind every service is a lifetime of quiet sacrifices.

And those sacrifices deserve to be remembered with honor, dignity and intention:

Ma’am Ofelia loved flowers, especially orchids. We custom-made her lapida to reflect that love, a quiet tribute to the beauty she nurtured in life.

Her guest book was also designed as an orchid coloring piece, where each petal was signed by family and friends, a symbol of how deeply her life touched every heart.

In our Mont Eden Living Room series, Vanessa Pla, a breast cancer thriver, shared her truth in the simplest but bravest way: live authentically.

For Vanessa, that means embracing the beauty and the ugly, the positive and the negatives. Cancer taught her to stop filtering life to feel it fully, speak honestly, and show up real. Because when you accept both the light and the shadow, that’s when you start finding your people, that’s when you truly start living.

At Mont Eden, our work often begins when a life has ended. But we’ve always believed our role in the community shouldn’t start there.

Through the Mont Eden Community Club, we organised our Chair Yoga the second time now! these sessions are a simple way of giving back, creating a space where community members could move gently, breathe deeply, and reconnect with their bodies.

Because advocating for dignity in death must also mean advocating for living well.

Chair yoga reminded us that wellness doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as:
• Sitting together
• Stretching mindfully
• Breathing with awareness
• Sharing a smile

Next session for FREE Chair Yoga:
19 March 2026, Thursday
8-9am

Talking about death makes most people change the topic.
We chose to press record.

Welcome to The Mont Eden Living Room.

We created this space to hold real stories — about life, death, and everything in between. Because when we dare to talk about endings, we often rediscover what truly matters about living.

In our first episode, we sit down with vivaciousvanessa_— mom of three, full-time employee, and a woman living with breast cancer. She speaks with courage about facing mortality, planning ahead, and choosing to live more truthfully, not fearfully.

We invite you to watch, to listen, and maybe to reflect on your own “someday.”

Full episode out now.

He was a young man with his whole life ahead of him—dreams still unfolding, plans still being written, a future wide and bright. No one could have imagined it would end so suddenly. In a single, unthinkable moment, everything changed.

For his mother, the pain was beyond words. He was not just her son, but her only son, her companion in a home that had already known loss after the passing of her husband. Every hope, every sacrifice, and every prayer was wrapped around the life they were building together. And then, without warning, he was gone, leaving a silence in the home and in her heart that feels too heavy to bear.

He was a son full of promise, strength, and possibility. Though his years were few, the love between mother and son was immeasurable. What remains now is a sorrow too deep to measure, and a love so powerful that even death cannot erase it.

What Breast Cancer taught me about Life and Death.

Welcome to The Mont Eden Living Room - a vodcast series where we meet inspiring people, have real conversations, and listen to the quiet courage of everyday heroes. Because sometimes, talking about death brings us back to life, and reminds us what truly matters.

In our first episode, we are featuring Vanessa Pla, who bravely shares her journey with breast cancer, her reflections on life and death, and how she chooses to live authentically each day.

Her story is honest, moving, and deeply human.

Watch till the end as we have a special gift made by Vanessa herself to be given away!

Talking about death often feels uncomfortable, but we’ve learned that these conversations brings us back to what truly matters: how we live.Welcome to The Mo...
