Nanay Biding’s Send-Off
Lydia Gueco Bedruz
May 27, 1943 – March 30, 2026
Lydia, a name that means “beautiful lady”, and in her case, it was true. Nanay Biding was a true beauty in real life, with a face that people remembered and admired. But beyond her physical beauty was a presence just as striking — strong, confident, and full of life.
She was a woman ahead of her time. Known in Talon as the only woman who confidently drove an owner-type jeep and a jeepney, she carried both boldness and independence with pride.
Nanay Biding almost single-handedly raised her four children, pouring her life into their growth and future. Today, each of them stands as a testament to her sacrifices, discipline, and unwavering love, all crediting their success to the woman who shaped them.
Her send-off was filled with warmth, stories, and music that captured her spirit, including Yellow by Coldplay, a song that somehow mirrored her vibrant and “cool” vibe.
The presence of so many family members and friends spoke volumes. It was a powerful reflection of a life well-lived and a woman deeply loved. Nanay Biding’s legacy lives on in her children, in the stories shared, and in the strength she passed on to everyone she touched.
