At Mont Eden, we believe a farewell should never feel rushed.

We hold space for families,
listening to the stories they share about their loved one,
honoring the memories that matter,
and allowing time for what the heart needs.

Families are welcome to:
• Sit with their loved one and share stories with us
• Take their time—no pressure, no hurry
• Enter our facilities to be participate in the dress up
• Participate in final acts of love, including putting on makeup or gently preparing their loved one themselves, if they wish

These moments are sacred.
They are not tasks to be finished, but love to be expressed.

At Mont Eden, we don’t just provide services.
We create a safe, compassionate space where families can say goodbye in their own way—
with dignity, tenderness, and care.

Because how we say goodbye matters.

Celebrating a Life Well Lived

Mercedita G. Tomas
November 03, 1944 - January 31, 2026

We often sense how deeply a person was loved, not only through the smile captured in a photograph, but also in the way their family arrives in our space. In the quiet gestures, the way they hold one another, and the care they show, we feel the love that surrounds them.

For Ma’am Mercedita, it is clear she was the heart of her family, a constant source of love, strength, and warmth. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and sister, a beautiful soul to everyone she met.

Though she is no longer with us, her love remains woven into the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the memories she leaves behind.

It is our honor at Mont Eden Memorial Chapels to stand with the family, to help celebrate a life well lived, and to hold space for remembrance, gratitude, and gentle goodbyes.

Funeral Viewing starts 2 Feb 2026, 12pm.

Mr. Hiroshi was Japanese-German.

When we learned this, we asked ourselves how we could truly honor him.

To be honest, we are not fully familiar with Japanese traditions. But we kept one thing close to our hearts: to offer something sincere, respectful, and done with care.

So we chose a Japanese poem.

“Like dew dropping down,
Like dew, then disappearing
could that be me, maybe

All that I’ve done in here,
a dream within a dream”

- Tototomi Hideyoshi, 1598

When his family read it, it brought them to tears.

These gestures may seem small.

But in moments of loss, even the smallest acts of thoughtfulness can mean everything.

And that… brought us tears too.

Laying Eric to rest, eternally, today.

Many came to send him off, each presence a quiet testament to a life deeply loved.

Eric was a devoted husband, sharing 31 years of marriage with the love of his life, and a proud, family-loving father to four children and grandfather to five grandchildren. His life was rooted in care, commitment, and showing up for those he loved most.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his guidance, strength, and love will continue to live on, watching over his family, steady and constant, in every step they take.

In Loving Memory of Ofelia G. Cepe
Aug 25, 1945 - Jan 13, 2026

Nanay Ofelia, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a woman so deeply cherished by her family. From the moment we met her loved ones, we felt how much she was loved, how full her life was, and how deeply she will be missed.

We assured the family that Nanay Ofelia would be well taken care of, with the same tenderness and respect she gave so freely in her life.

Nanay Ofelia loved gardening, cooking, and traveling, and she had a special fondness for flowers, especially orchids and roses. To honor her passions, we arranged a special floral setting filled with everything she loved: roses, lilies, anthuriums, and orchids.

We are always moved by moments when families share their stories with us. Knowing their life, their values, and their love allows us to honor the deceased with deeper intention and care. Thank you for trusting us to be part of this sacred farewell.

May Nanay Ofelia rest in peace, surrounded by love, always remembered, always cherished. 🤍

Behind the scenes at Mont Eden: 3 things we do while preparing someone for their final viewing

1️⃣ We introduce ourselves
we say our names. We acknowledge them as a person, not a process. This is our way of beginning with respect.

2️⃣ We make sure they still look like themselves
Preparation for viewing is not about creating a standard “look.” It’s about familiarity. A peaceful face, natural tones, features that families recognize.

3️⃣ We check every detail
From hand position to overall casket presentation, nothing is rushed. We step back, observe, adjust, and refine. Because families notice. And because details matter when love is involved.

We advocate for dignified farewells.
Preparing someone for their final viewing is an act of love, one that allows families to remember their loved one at their best.

If you’ve attended many funerals, you may notice the familiar “dead look” — pale face, red lips — often the result of preparation treated as a transaction.

For us, never.
This is an honor. A responsibility. A quiet privilege to support families through one of life’s most sacred transitions.

Aug 29, 1973 - Jan 10, 2026

A life well lived knows no borders. Eric will be remembered for the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Though he may be gone from our sight, his presence lives on through the stories, love, and legacy he leaves behind.

Yesterday, baby Kai was under our care.

Losing a child is devastating. There are no words that can ease this kind of pain. At Mont Eden, all we could do was offer tenderness, dignity, and quiet care for baby Kai and his parents.

We prepared a simple, dignified viewing, and took his portrait and footprints as keepsakes of a love that will always remain.

A bouquet was prepared for Mommy Ria, for a mother who needs the most gentle care and love during this time.

Baby Kai will always be remembered, reminding us that even the briefest lives can hold immense love.

For any parent walking through the loss of a child, know that you are not alone. Your pain is seen, and you deserve care and gentleness.

It took us a while to process the grief. Only now did we finally find the energy to complete the video of our very own Inay’s send off.

For 14 days, our chapel became a home. We celebrated birthdays and Christmas with Inay. We wore different colors, each day with its own meaning. It reminded us that funerals do not always have to be black and white. Grief can look like love, memory, laughter, and togetherness.

Old photographs filled the walls. Messages were written by hand and hung in what we called a wall of love letters. Every note carried a story. Every photo carried a piece of her life.

On the final days, family carried her casket with their own hands. Nieces walked beside her, holding photos and memorabilia close to their hearts. It was intimate, personal, and deeply moving. A true family send off.

Inay Rosing is now home. Forever in our hearts. Her legacy live on in all of us.
