Ang 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙨 o “whooping cough” ay isang nakakahawang sakit na nakamamatay lalo na sa mga sanggol.

Agad na magpakonsulta sa pinakamalapit na health center kapag may sintomas ng pertussis tulad ng sipon, ubo at lagnat kapag lumalala ang pag-ubo sa loob ng 1-2 linggo.

Ang whooping cough ay sinusundan ng matinis at ipit na paghinga matapos umubo; maaari ring magdulot ng pagsusuka, at hirap sa paghinga!

Kumpletuhin ang 3 dosis ng Pentavalent Vaccine o 5 in 1 Vaccine (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Influenza B at Hepatitis B).

𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗨𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗩𝗘𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗘
A person with cough lasting at least 2 weeks with at least one of the following:
• Paroxysms (i.e. fits) of coughing
• Inspiratory “whooping”
• Post-tussive vomiting (i.e. vomiting immediately after coughing)
• Without other apparent cause

𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗗
• A case of acute cough illness of any duration with a positive culture for B pertussis; or
• A case that meets the clinical case definition and is confirmed by PCR; or
• A case that meets the clinical definition and is epidemiologically linked to a case confirmed by either culture or PCR.
