Here is our patient, Catie, she is a 10-year-old domestic short hair. According to her fur parents, Catie had been spayed years ago. However, they are still observing heat signs (just not getting pregnant), and she has been showing vaginal bleeding on and off for the past 2 years.

At the time she was brought in, she was extremely dehydrated, had profuse vaginal bleeding, and respiratory disease. We decided to make her condition better first, before deciding on surgery. After days of confinement, she was doing a lot better and so we decided to refer her for ultrasonography, and do the surgery a week after.

Once we have confirmed that it was in fact a stump pyometra, she was prepped for surgery. Upon opening her up, we found the part of the uterus that was causing the vaginal bleeding and infection. And we also found the ovarian remnant that was causing her to still have heat signs. Both were removed in surgery, as well as the hydrocoele that developed on the o***y.

As of now, Catie's sutures have been removed and she is recovering well at home.

Hello FURends! Just a little update for "Zorro". He looks completely different now. We were able to save his eyes - both eyes are still working, even the one that already had contents oozing out. But as you can see, there is obvious scarring on the right eye. Expected from the severity of his case.

He has also been groomed. Yey! Although it appears as if it was his first time to be groomed as he was so stressed during it. Pooping and peeing several times in the process 😅 nonetheless, we are very happy with his progress.

It has been very rewarding seeing his improvement ✨️

Thank you for all your concern, FURends 🫶🏻🌸💖

This dog has been left abandoned by owners in our facility for 10 days now.

Owners pretended to come in for an eye check-up. Then later asked for a favor to leave him for a few minutes just as they go to the market. However, it has been 10 days now and no owner has come to pick him up.

THIS IS A CALL FOR RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP.

Do not take a pet in just because it has a "breed". You don't take them in just for show. They are a big responsibility. If you do not have the patience, the time, the compassion, and the means to take care of them, then do not get one!

This eye problem could've been avoided. If only you took him in for grooming, cleaned his eyes regularly, gave him a bath, and took a closer look at him.

Imagine leaving your companion just like that. He's been with you for years, making you happy, decreasing your stress. Then time comes when they need you to take care of them but what you do is abandon them.

Anyway, we have since tried to treat his eye problem and it has significantly improved compared to when he was brought in. As you can see, it is not at all difficult to try. A little effort and care goes a long way.

Mommy Angel the Frenchie and her 5 healthy pups 🐾

She had to undergo caesarian section to give birth to these adorable little ones. ✨️

Giving birth thru c-section is quite common in these breeds as their heads are too big to fit in the pelvic canal. 😅

Angel has had her stitches removed a week after her surgery andis now recovering beautifully 🥰

Here is our Patient, Gunner. A 4-year-old, Labrador weighing 35 kg. He came in for castration however, his balls are nowhere to be found in his scrotal sac. Which means they can be found either in the abdomen or in the inguinal area (singit).

Much to our luck, each testicle had a different plan, one is in the abdomen, and one is in the inguinal area 😅 Hence, the 2 incisions you see in the picture.

The surgery was a success as we were able to retrieve both of the testicles 🍒✂️ Gunner has now fully healed 😊

These types or surgeries are done to prevent cancer in the future as the testicles inside can become a mass.

Here is our Patient, Lucy. A 10- year-old, neutered Chinese Shar Pei. She has been in a fight with another Shar Pei that is much younger than her. Hence, she received more damage and has more severe wounds.

A Shar Pei's skin is different compared to other dogs. It has more of the substance called Mucin which is responsible for the thickening of the skin. There is also more mucus secretions observed while the wound is being stiched together. Like a clear "sipon".

Another thing about mucin is that it would actually delay the healing comapred to other dogs, fortunately, Lucy's healing went smoothly.

Now she she back fighting with the other SharPei 😅
