The SGH - Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit - HEDMU (Sgh Hedmu), in partnership with Bureau of Fire Protection Surallah, successfully conducted a Fire Drill and Simulation on March 18, 2026 at SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital.

This activity reinforces the importance of preparedness among healthcare providersโ€”enhancing rapid response, improving coordination during emergencies, and building confidence in managing fire-related incidents within healthcare settings. Through hands-on simulation, staff are better equipped to protect patients, ensure safety, and minimize risks when real emergencies arise.

On March 12, 2026, at exactly 3:30 PM, SOCCSKSARGEN General Hospital successfully participated in the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.

The drill, facilitated by the SGH - Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit - HEDMU (Sgh Hedmu), was part of a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety of hospital personnel, patients, and the surrounding community.

During the drill, SGH personnel demonstrated their preparedness by following proper protocols, including the "duck, cover, and hold" technique, evacuation procedures, and coordinated communication efforts. The participation of various departments in the hospital underscored the importance of collective action in mitigating the risks posed by earthquakes and other natural disasters.

The HEDMU Training Team, composed of Dr. Cheron Pelaez Gampong, FPCS, FPSGS, Mr. Jeaniel Boholst Seno, MAN, RN, EMT, Mr. Chris Ian Vincent Ofong, RN, EMT, Ms. Ruby Shayne Nasataya, RN, and Mr. Mark Clement Pabilona, was invited by Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center to conduct the BLS Training.

A total of 11 Medical Staff from DATRC successfully completed and passed both the written examination and return demonstration.
