“Dilag Integrated School Hosts Health Caravan, Observes Global Handwashing Day”

On October 15, 2025, Dilag Integrated School hosted a Health Caravan in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter, Tabuk City Rural Health Unit 1 under the leadership of Dr. Ma. Diana Dalsen, and DepEd Tabuk led by SDS Benedicta Gamatero.

The event offered a range of free health services and educational activities, including:

• Medical consultations with free medicines
• Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) sessions focused on leptospirosis, cough and colds, and dengue
• Hygiene promotion
• Distribution of hygiene kits
• Hands-only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) lecture demonstration
• Free blood sugar and uric acid testing
• Child-friendly space

Kindergarten students participated in child-friendly and hygiene activities, such as coloring sessions and actual demonstrations on proper handwashing techniques. Meanwhile, students from Grades 9, 10, and 12 took part in the Basic Life Support (BLS) session.

In observance of Global Handwashing Day, kindergarten pupils were also taught the importance of hand hygiene through engaging demonstrations.

The PRC - Kalinga Chapter extends its heartfelt gratitude to Engr. Ferdinand Indammog and Dr. Eleonor Morados, President of the Kalinga Dental Association, for their generous donation of hygiene kits.

Special thanks are also given to the dedicated staff and volunteers whose efforts made the event a success:

To mark Midwifery Week, the International School of Asia and the Pacific-Kalinga (ISAP-K), in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter, held a successful blood donation drive on October 10, 2025, under the Pledge 25 initiative.

The event highlighted the vital role of youth in sustaining the community’s blood supply. ISAP-K students not only donated blood but also encouraged friends, family, and community members to join, resulting in a strong turnout of donors.

Pledge 25, a program by the PRC, promotes regular voluntary blood donation among youth aged 16 to 25, helping build a reliable and long-term blood supply.

The PRC - Kalinga Chapter extends its gratitude to Engr. Goldenrod Marie Odiem, ISAP-K’s Director of Administration, and the whole ISAP-K community for the warm welcome.

In celebration of St. Theresita’s High School Tinglayan Inc.’s 44th Foundation Anniversary, a Health Caravan was held on October 9, 2025, bringing essential health services directly to the school community.

Students from Grades 7 to 12, along with several parents, took advantage of the free services provided through a partnership between the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tinglayan.

The PRC Kalinga Chapter provided the following free services:
• Hands-only CPR lecture demonstration
• Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) session on dengue, leptospirosis, and cough and colds
• Blood typing
• Free basic medicine distribution

The RHU Tinglayan, on the other hand, offered:
• HIV screening and counseling
• Dental services
• Medical consultations

“Lower Bangad Hosts Community Blood Drive”

On October 8, 2025, Barangay Lower Bangad in Tinglayan held a bloodletting activity that drew a diverse mix of participants, including barangay officials and staff, housewives, professionals, and local farmers.

The event took place at the St. Francis Xavier compound beside the Barangay Hall and was made possible through the partnership between the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Tinglayan.

Prior to the blood donation, an information, education, and communication (IEC) session was conducted to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation. The session also covered key topics such as the process for requesting blood for yTinglayans, the use of the PRC Donor Card, and inter-chapter blood request procedures.

The IEC was led by PRC - Kalinga Chapter registered medical technologists Ms. Sheena Mahoy, Mr. Jeremy Delgado, and Ms. Ayezza Mae Bautista, along with Dr. Febe Langkit of the RHU Tinglayan.

On September 30, 2025, staff and volunteers of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter traveled to Taga, Pinukpuk to support the final leg of Serbisyo Caravan, an inter-agency outreach to celebrate the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).

In partnership with the Rural Health Unit of Pinukpuk, led by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Rizal Leo Cala and Rural Health Physician Dr. Cristina Tongdo, the PRC - Kalinga Chapter conducted a Health Caravan and bloodletting activity, providing vital health services to yPinukpuks.

The activity supported the initiative’s goal of making essential services accessible to the public, through the following free services:

• Free medical consultations and checkups
• Free blood testing
• Free distribution of basic medicines
• Free HIV testing and counseling
• Child-friendly space
• IEC campaigns focused on vaccination, dengue, leptospirosis, and respiratory illness prevention

Several government agencies and local partners also joined the initiative, offering services such as scholarship assistance and free legal consultation.

“PRC - Kalinga Chapter Joins Forces with Government Agencies in Tabuk City Serbisyo Caravan for 125th PCSA”

On September 27, 2025, in celebration of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter once again teamed up with various government agencies and organizations for a Serbisyo Caravan, this time in Tabuk City.

The event was held at the Kalinga Astrodome and served as a one-stop hub where the public could access a wide range of frontline government services.

As one of the lead health partners, the PRC - Kalinga Chapter conducted a bloodletting drive and hosted a Health Caravan, offering the following services:

• Voluntary blood donation
• Free medical checkups
• Free distribution of basic medicines
• Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns on dengue, leptospirosis, and respiratory illnesses

Participating agencies also provided services ranging from TIN services and licensing support to free legal aid and employment assistance.
