“Dao-angan and Maling Residents Unite in Lifesaving Blood Drive”

On September 10, 2025, residents of Barangays Dao-angan and Maling in Balbalan gathered at the Dao-angan Health Station for a common purpose: to help save lives through blood donation.

The drive was organized by the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Balbalan, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Kalinga Chapter.

The donors were both first-timers and regulars, all united to pursue a great cause.

Before the actual bloodletting, a brief program was held, providing an opportunity for Dr. Roselle Calma, Balbalan’s Municipal Health Officer, and Mr. Jeremy Delgado, RMT, of the PRC - Kalinga Chapter, to educate donors on the importance and process of blood donation, as well as address concerns regarding blood requests and the proper procedures for accessing blood services.

The partnership between PRC - Kalinga Chapter and RHU Balbalan emphasizes the importance of local engagement in blood campaigns, especially in helping ensure a steady supply of blood in the province.
