𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝑳𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒚, 𝑳𝑨𝑫𝑫’𝑺 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒚

At just 16 days old, this newborn is in the earliest stage of neonatal life, barely over two weeks since birth. Despite her tiny size, this brave little fighter faced a critical medical challenge with remarkable strength.

Diagnosed with life-threatening Upper Gastrointestinal Obstruction probably secondary to Intestinal malrotation, the infant underwent an exploratory laparotomy to assess the abdominal organs, followed by a Ladd’s procedure to correct the abnormal positioning of the intestines and prevent future volvulus.

An appendectomy was also performed to eliminate potential diagnostic confusion later in life.
