Regarding the trending post of a mother who declined the newborn routines for her newborn baby. I dont wanna share her post because she is happy for the fame and earnings. Hope other parent /s will not follow her misconception.

Correcting misconception regarding newborn practices (parts from google.com-- why she can't do googling 🙄 lol)

The administration of vitamin K to newborns is a standard, highly recommended medical procedure to prevent a serious bleeding disorder; it is a vitamin supplement, not a VACCINE. (But vaccines were also important for your babies).

It is recommended and given to prevent life-threatening bleeding because Babies are born with very low levels of vitamin K, which is essential for the blood to clot properly. Without enough vitamin K, they are at risk of Vitamin K Deficiency Bleeding or the hemorrhagic disease of the newborn or brain injury / bleeding which can lead to neurologic sequelae.

The Safety and Efficacy of the vitamin K shot has been a routine part of newborn care for over 60 years and numerous large studies have shown it to be safe and effective. Concerns about links to childhood cancer have been extensively studied and disproven. (Meaning the Vitamin k practices is older and proven, backed up with studies than the one who posted the misconception so why not believe it).

Doctors and health care practitioners are just educators, It's still your decision as parents who will matter to ur children.. BUT don't blame us if complications arises, we gave you the lectures so learned the lessons. And please be good to your health care practitioners, NO hurting words..always remember, they just want the best for you and your children.. the Philippines is so heavy already to bear, so let's all be kind to each other.

Should I Be Concerned if My Baby Doesn’t Startle at Loud Sounds?

Yes. Babies usually jump, blink, or cry when startled by sudden loud noise. If your baby doesn’t respond, it may indicate hearing impairment.

Ask your pediatrician or ENT for a newborn hearing screen. Early detection is crucial!

What Is Ear Barotrauma and How Can I Prevent It When Flying?

Ear barotrauma happens when pressure changes—like during takeoff or landing—damage the eardrum or middle ear.

Prevention Tips:
✅ Yawn, swallow, or chew gum during ascent/descent
✅ If with nasal congestion, you may use prescribed intranasal or oral decongestants.
✅ Try earplugs designed for flying

If you feel severe pain or hearing loss after a flight, consult your ENT.

Can Ear Infections Cause Permanent Hearing Loss?

Yes—untreated or repeated ear infections, especially in children, can lead to:
⚠️ Damage to the eardrum
⚠️ Middle ear complications
⚠️ Permanent hearing loss in some cases

Prompt treatment helps prevent long-term damage. Don’t ignore recurring ear pain or discharge.

Why Does My Child Keep Getting Ear Infections?

Children have smaller and more horizontal Eustachian tubes, making it easier for fluid and bacteria to get trapped. This can lead to recurrent otitis media (middle ear infection), especially after colds or allergies.

Frequent infections may require ENT evaluation, possible hearing tests, or ear tube placement.

Very important esp for pediatricians who got the "catch" 😉

What Is a Tongue-Tie (Ankyloglossia)?

Tongue-tie occurs when the tissue connecting the tongue to the mouth (lingual frenulum) is too short or tight, limiting movement.

It may affect:
🔸 Breastfeeding
🔸 Speech
🔸 Oral hygiene

Treatment may involve a simple procedure called frenotomy, if needed.
