HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR STETHOSCOPE?
💁 💁 ♀️💁 ♀️💁 ♀️ Proper preservation of stethoscope longevity and prevents damage to functions and aesthetics. There are many ways to preserve stethoscope for a long lifespan or environment as follows:
👉 In the initial container
👉 Place in a suitable position inside the cabinet, compartment or dry and airy locker
👉 Don't put the stethoscope in a hot or cold place.
👉 Don't put the stethoscope under direct sunlight because continuous sunbathing will make the tube harden.
👉 Don't put / keep the stethoscope close to solvent or oil
👉 Don't put heavy objects on the stethoscope because they can break the stethoscope
👉 Don't keep the stethoscope by folding and putting it in the bag

Who can survive medical school without owning a stethoscope? No one! To be honest, when I think of stethoscopes, only one brand rings a bell – . When I entered med school, the first stethoscope I used was a hand-me-down from my dad, which was his old stethoscope from med school! Meaning, it was probably around 20/30/40 years old already – and I wouldn’t have guessed it. It was a black Classic Littmann stethoscope and it was still perfectly working without any damages, not even scratches.
Thank you to .ph for my new Littmann Cardiology IV Stethoscope – in champagne color which is their limited special edition color. I wish I had this in med school, probably heard more murmurs and gallops since cardiology stethoscopes make it easier and more sensitive to hear these faint heart sounds with its high acoustic sensitivity features. My only choice of stethoscope — Littmann™️. My first one was a gift from my dad, a burgundy Classic III, which I still use until today. It has withstand clerkship, internship and 1st year residency.
