Tree Planting at Sierra Madre
This Christmas season not only do we give back to people who mattered throughout the year but also to Madre Tierra who made this experience possible. The tree planting activity is our way of giving back to the generosity of the mountain Sierra Madre especially for the protection she offered when during the recent Super Typhoon Uwan, as well as, the countless typhoons she silently protected us before that.
We planted 300 fruit bearing trees that day and before that, the different batches of the organising club planted 3000 seedlings in total while also helping the indigenous community and local organisations around. But there is much still to be done because nurturing these seedlings as it grows takes 3-5 years and that also takes time, effort, dedication and resources.
While the planting season for the year is complete, you can still get involved. Philippine Academy of Intuitives - PAInt together with Sacred Plant Asia , Shop Soulfully and Light Space Intuitive Wellbeing Center in collaboration with We Lift Club will be adopting a strip of land to plant and nurture trees next year.
Why this matters?
***Mitigating Disaster: Reducing flood problems and providing better protection from storms.
***Ecological Health: Flourishing the land and promoting biodiversity.
***Community Support: Helping indigenous communities thrive as the land's traditional stewards.
We invite individuals to join this restoration effort with a long-term commitment. We are looking for hearts dedicated to the love of our shared home—not for selfies, social media recognition, or just a feel-good moment.
A Point of Reflection:
Sierra Madre and our mountains does not need us to survive; they will thrive without human intervention. It is us who need them- we need them for us to live a fruitful and safe life.
Let's create a chain of consciousness: replacing blame with positivity, compassion, and love, and embracing accountability as we become true protectors of our home.
