FORGING THE MEDICAL FORCE | PMC Medical Service Officers Complete Modified Call to Arms

The Philippine Marine Corps Medical Service proudly highlights the continued integration and development of our AFP Technical Administrative Service officers through consecutive Modified Call to Arms activities held at Marine Base Gregorio Lim, Ternate, Cavite.

From 14 to 16 September 2024, the Philippine Marine Corps conducted its first Modified Call to Arms designed specifically for active Technical Administrative Service officers historically assigned to or serving with the Corps. This landmark undertaking immersed participating officers in Marine ethos, discipline, and tradition, culminating in an emblem pinning led by the then Commandant, MGEN ARTURO G ROJAS PN(M). While this activity marked the formal introduction of the emblem for active TAS officers, it also affirmed a truth long embodied by those who served before them: the Marine Emblem is earned, never given—and many of our retired and formerly assigned TAS officers have carried that ethos in their hearts for years.

Officers who completed this Call to Arms on 16 September 2024 include COL FLORES MC(MNSA), COL GARCIA MC(GSC), LTCOL SANGOY MC, LTCOL VENTURA MAC, LTCOL DEL ROSARIO NC, MAJ NEMATIAN MC, MAJ CABUSORA NC, CPT LOPEZ MC, CPT UMADHAY MC, CPT FAUNI MAC, CPT RETAGA NC, CPT TAGHAP MAC, 1LT EIJANSANTOS MAC, 1LT ILOS NC, 1LT REGACHO MAC, 2LT BATANG MAC, and 2LT VIVAS MAC. Some of these officers continue to serve within the Philippine Marine Corps Medical Service, while others who were previously assigned to Marine units are now posted to different AFP offices. Together, they form a proud and growing lineage of Marine-ready medical professionals who uphold the values of Honor, Duty, and Patriotism in every field of service.

From 14 to 16 November 2025, another Modified Call to Arms was conducted for Technical Administrative Service officers serving with the PMC Medical Service. Participating officers were LTCOL BARSAGA MC, CPT GAURANO MC, and 2LT RIBAO MAC, who are currently assigned to the PMC Medical Service, along with COL ABAD DS and MAJ FERNANDEZ MAC, who have long been assigned to the Marines and formally received their emblems during the activity. With the Corps placed on red alert status during this period, COL ROMMEL B BOGNALBAL PN(M)(GSC) represented the Commandant, MGEN VICENTE MAP BLANCO III PN(M), and served as Guest of Honor, underscoring the vital importance of medical readiness in times of heightened operational demand. Throughout the training, the officers underwent Marine Ethos sessions, field modules, and ceremonial rites, further strengthening their identity as Marine-ready medical professionals and solidifying their commitment to the mission and the Corps.

Across these Modified Call to Arms activities, one message remains constant: medical readiness is Marine readiness. The MC, DS, MAC, and NC officers who have earned their emblem through this rite embody the discipline, dedication, and warrior spirit that define the Philippine Marine Corps. Their service enhances the operational capability and resilience of the Corps, ensuring that the PMC Medical Service remains a steadfast pillar of support to Marine units across the archipelago.

To all officers who have completed the Modified Call to Arms—your service fortifies ours. Together, we remain the Most Ready Force.

PMC MEDICAL SERVICE HEALTH ADVISORY FOR DIABETES:
IWAS-DIABETES, IWAS-KOMPLIKASYON!

- Malabong paningin
- Mabilis mapagod
- Madalas na pag-ihi
- Matinding uhaw
- Palaging gutom
- Pamamanhid o parang tumutosok-tusok ang kamay at paa

Risk Factors sa ating mga Pilipino
Mas mataas ang chance na magkadiabetes kung:
- May kamag-anak na may diabetes
- May high blood pressure o mataas na triglycerides
- Nagkaroon ng gestational diabetes (diabetes noong buntis)
- Edad 40 pataas

1. Kumain nang Tama. Bawasan ang kanin; damihan ang gulay. Pumili ng whole grains. Iwasan ang matatamis na pagkain at inumin
2. Balanseng pagkain (protina + gulay + prutas + fiber)
3. Mag-ehersisyo ng 30 minuto kada araw. Strength training 2–3x bawat linggo. 10–15 minutong paglalakad pagkatapos kumain
4. Iwasan ang Paninigarilyo at Limitahan ang Alak
5. Panatilihing Maayos ang Timbang. Bawasan ng at least 7% ng kasalukuyang timbang. Ang unti-unting pagbabago sa diet ay mas epektibo kaysa crash diet (halimbawa: one meal a day diet)

IWAS-LEPTOSPIROSIS, IWAS-SAKIT NGAYONG TAG-ULAN!
