UPDATE: MAGNITUDE 7.5

Phivolcs adjusted the magnitude of the earthquake that struck at 9:43 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025, from 7.6 to 7.5.

The quake's epicenter was located 44 northeast of Manay, Davao Oriental. It was felt at Intensity 5 in Davao City and Intensity 4 in Bislig City in Surigao del Sur.

Instrumental Intensities:

Intensity 5 - Hinunangan, Southern Leyte; City of Gingoog, Misamis Oriental; Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; City of Davao; Santa Maria, Davao Occidental; City of Kidapawan, Cotabato; Alabel, and
Malungon, Sarangani; City of Koronadal, and Tupi, South Cotabato.

CLASSES SUSPENDED

Talisay City Mayor Samsam Gullas ordered the suspension of all face-to-face classes in public schools following the earthquake that struck on Friday morning, October 10, 2025

In a Facebook post, Gullas said he had already coordinated with Dr. Arden Monisit, the city’s schools division superintendent, to cancel all in-person classes in all levels.

“Tungod sa nahitabong pagtay-og karun lang, we have to suspend our face-to-face classes in all levels,” Gullas wrote.

He also reminded parents to exercise caution when fetching their children from school, emphasizing that safety is the city’s top priority. | via EHP
