ln celebration of World Mental Health Day 2025, the dedicated RHU staff led by Dr. Gay B. Ardanas organized a vibrant and impactful mental health activity at the Municipal Ground today, October 9. With the global theme, “Access to Services Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,” the event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of mental well-being, especially during challenging times.

The activity was warmly participated in by LGU employees, who came together not only to learn but to laugh, move, reflect, and connect through a series of fun and therapeutic stress management activities designed to promote holistic mental wellness.

What made the event even more memorable were the many enjoyable activities and little surprises prepared by the RHU team, including tokens and giveaways related to each of the 12 Stress Management Techniques. These creative and thoughtful tokens served as reminders that self-care doesn’t need to be complicated, and small steps can lead to big improvements in mental health.

The 12 techniques showcased during the event included:
✨ Spiritual – reconnecting with inner peace and purpose
🧠 Self-debriefing – making space to process and release emotions
🗣️ Speak to Me – encouraging open dialogue and emotional expression
😴 Siesta – embracing the power of rest and short breaks
🎵 Sounds and Songs – enjoying music for healing and mood upliftment
🤝 Socials – building bonds and support through shared moments
🧍‍♂️ Self-awareness – gaining insight into thoughts and feelings
🧘‍♀️ Stretching – promoting physical release and relaxation
💆 Sensation Technique (massage) – offering calming sensory experiences
📅 Scheduling (Time Management) – organizing time for better balance
🏀 Sports – energizing the body and clearing the mind
😊 Smile – spreading positivity through simple, genuine joy

The event brought together wellness, education, and joy, reflecting the municipality’s strong commitment to promoting accessible and proactive mental health care.

Let this day be a reminder that mental health is a priority, not a luxury and with the right tools and support, we can all thrive, even in the face of life’s emergencies.

Together, we create a mentally healthy community.
