As the Municipal Local Government Unit of Talusan continues to respond to the implementation of Universal Health Care, The Municipal Health Office of Talusan spearheaded by our Municipal Health Officer Dr. Fidel V. Pondevida Jr. MD,MPH conducted our HEALTH SUMMIT 2025 with a theme: Bridging the Gaps: A Step closer towards Health Security last December 4, 2025 at Talusan Municipal Gymnasium.
This program aims to strengthen the Health Programs being implemented in the barangay level by gathering the essential key personnel and stakeholders, and together celebrate the accomplishments of 2025. Municipal Mayor, Hon. Gilbert T. Edem together with Sanggunian Bayan Members, Hon. Raymond Bagonoc graced us with their presence during the said activity.
With this event, we also acknowledged the unwavering support and commitment of our Barangay Health Workers, as some of them bid their farewell to our 1 BHW Retiree Mrs. Lilia Tolorio Esparaguera. Meanwhile, several barangays and active local health workers and personnel have demonstrated outstanding performance, resolute dedication and valuable contribution in the implementation of Health Programs and activities of Rural Health Unit of Talusan were also recognized and awarded.
Indeed, there is still a long way to go and there is much that needs to be adjusted in the health system and services provided, but strategies and planning continue to be developed to solve the challenges that will be faced by working shoulder to shoulder with the local government..
