It is super easy for us to love those we like. It pours out of us often without us realizing it. But when it comes to those who have hurt us, loving them feels more unnatural. The truth is, though, Jesus loves us despite all of the ways we have hurt Him. Because of this, we are also called to love others, regardless of what they have done. How can you love someone who is difficult to love today?

Mental health challenges don’t make a person less faithful or less loved by God. Scripture shows that even faithful men and women wrestled with despair, fear, and exhaustion. Elijah wanted to give up. David poured out his anxiety in the Psalms. Jesus Himself experienced deep anguish in Gethsemane.

God’s response to human struggle has always been compassion, not condemnation. When the Bible calls us to be “sound-minded,” it doesn’t dismiss the reality of mental and emotional pain. Instead, it reminds us that God desires wholeness-a peace that includes our minds, not one that ignores them.

So if you’re struggling, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed spiritually. He invites you to rest, seek help, and trust that healing-whether through prayer, support, or treatment-is part of His care too.

So when your thoughts start to drown you,
Don’t just run to people — run to Jesus first.
He is our Great Healer, the best Counselor, and the only One who can truly make our hearts whole again. 🕊️
