In celebration of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, we gathered at the San Sebastian Cathedral Parish of Tarlac to give thanks for the gift of our beloved animals. ❤️

It was a beautiful morning filled with faith, love, and furry blessings — a reminder that all of God’s creatures deserve care and compassion. 🙏🐶🐱

Grateful for this special day of togetherness and thanksgiving! 🌿

🐾 Feast of St. Francis of Assisi 🕊️
Join us as we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, on October 4, 2025 (Saturday) at the San Sebastian Cathedral Parish of Tarlac.

🙏 Holy Mass at 6:30 AM will be offered in honor of St. Francis, followed by a special Blessing of Pets. Bring your beloved furry, feathered, or scaled companions as we ask for God’s protection and St. Francis’ intercession for their health and well-being.

Let us come together in faith, thanksgiving, and love for God’s creation. ❤️🐶🐱🐰🐦🐢

Kabaste, ikaw ba ay may alagang hayop? Sakto! dahil ngayong darating na Sabado, ika-4 ng Oktubre ay magkakaroon ng pagbababasbas ng ating mga alaga sa Katedral ng Tarlac pagkatapos ng Pagdiriwang ng Banal na Misa sa alas sais y media ng umaga (6:30 am). Ito ay kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng Kapistahan ni San Francisco ng Assisi, ang patron ng mga hayop, at kapaligiran.

Tulad nating mga fur parents, si San Francisco ay may makulay na ugnayan sa mga hayop at sa kalikasan. Batid niya na ang mga ito ay nilikha rin at kinalulugdan ng Diyos kaya’t ang mga ito ay pinagkatiwala sa atin upang pangalagaan, at mahalin.

🐾 Did you know?
Some kittens are born with a rare condition called anasarca or “water baby syndrome.” 💧

These kittens appear very swollen because their bodies are filled with fluid. Sadly, most are stillborn (born without life) or do not survive long after birth.

⚠️ This condition is usually due to congenital problems during development in the womb. It’s important to know that it is not the fault of the mother cat or the pet owner.

💔 While heartbreaking, awareness of anasarca helps us understand that sometimes nature takes its own course.
