Sa ilalim ng programang ito, maaaring makakuha ng hanggang P20,000 na halaga ng gamot kada taon ang PhilHealth members.

ZERO BALANCE BILLING, NADUGTUGAN ANG BUHAY NG MGA PASYENTENG INOPERAHAN SA PUSO NA ISINAGAWA NG DOH-CAGAYAN VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER AT PHILIPPINE HEART CENTER

Nitong nagdaang linggo, lumipad ang medical team ng Philippine Heart Center patungong DOH-Cagayan Valley Medical Center o CVMC sa Tuguegarao City para isagawa ang operasyon sa puso ng pitong bata at dalawang adult patients.

Ayon kay Dr. Cherry Lou Antonio, Medical Center Chief ng DOH-CVMC, saklaw ng zero balance billing ang lahat ng ginawang operasyon sa mga pasyente kaya walang binayaran ang siyam na inoperahan sa puso.

Bilang apex o end-referral hospital sa rehiyon, sa DOH-CVMC dinadala ang mga pasyenteng nangangailangan ng operasyon sa puso na parte ng tertiary care.

Ayon kay Dr. Avenilo Aventura Jr. ng Philippine Heart Center, labing anim sa labing walong rehiyon sa bansa na ang napuntahan ng kanilang cardiac mission mula pa noong 2012.

Alinsunod pa rin ito sa direktiba ni Pangulong B**g B**g Marcos na magtatag ng mga regional specialty center para mailapit ang serbisyong medikal sa mga probinsya at para hindi na kailangan pang bumiyahe ng mga pasyente papuntang Maynila para sa komplikadong operasyon.

Itinuturing namang panimula ng DOH-CVMC ang cardiovascular mission na ito sa kanilang itatayong heart center.

Sa kasalukuyan ay may anim na specialty centers na ang DOH-Cagayan Valley Medical Center kabilang ang mental care, cancer, neonatal, infectious diseases and tropical medicine, orthopedic and trauma care, at lung center.
