Laparoscopic appendectomy performed on a female on her senior college year who is known to have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Because of laparoscopy, we were able to visualize her reproductive organs, which turned out to be grossly normal, with minimally invasive means. This wouldn't have been possible had she undergone an open procedure. Her inflamed appendix was taken out with ease and she was back to school in a few days' time.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy done on a 59-year old female who came all the way from the Northern coast of Cagayan. She was sent home a day after the procedure and already reported for work a few days after being sent home. Her co-employees were totally amazed how she was already able to report for work like no surgery even took place. Such is the beauty of minimally invasive surgery. 🤏🤏

We performed superficial parotidectomy on a young female who complained of a mass in front of her right ear. Enlisting the help of my batchmate Dr. Michael Matias who specializes in Head and Neck Surgery, we excised a portion of her right parotid gland while making sure that all branches of her right facial nerve were identified and preserved. She was sent home the following day with no problems.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy on an elderly female, appendectomy for a ruptured appendix on an 8-year old female, and splenectomy for a young man in his 20's who sustained an irreparable injury to his spleen after figuring in a vehicular crash...all in a day's work.

Laparoscopic bile duct exploration for a female who presented with jaundice due to multiple bile duct stones. This painstakingly long procedure needed exceptional teamwork and took over 8 hours to perform due to the sheer number of stones that had to be manually extracted one by one. This patient was spared from having to undergo an ERCP to clear the bile duct, and from a massive scar on her abdomen. I thank my boss Dr. Michael Mercado and fellow surgeons Drs. Isah Fortuno and Timo Ventura for the opportunity to assist in this case.
