Matthew 18:1-5, 10. “…Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven…” In a competitive world, greatness is often measured by achievements, titles, or recognition. Jesus in today’s gospel turned this idea upside down, revealing that true greatness is found in humility, in the simplicity of a child’s heart, and in valuing even the least among us. Let us be like our Guardian Angels whose feast we celebrate today, reminding us that true greatness does not come from being admired but from loving deeply. It is found not in climbing ladders but in kneeling to serve. A blessed Thursday and feast of the Guardian Angels! 😇😇😇

Luke 9:57-62 “…Jesus answered him, ‘No one who sets a hand to the plow and looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God.’…” The disciples in today’s gospel expressed their willingness to follow Jesus but reminded them that discipleship is not about comfort but about conviction, not about temporary enthusiasm but about lasting dedication. In a culture where choices are endless, distractions are constant, and loyalty often depends on convenience, the life of St. Thérèse whose feast we celebrate today shows that commitment requires more than half-hearted attempts. It demands a clear decision and the courage to follow through thick and thin. Let us start the month with the same conviction, our resolve to stay committed and faithful must never waver. A blessed month of October ahead mga Kalakbay! 😇😇😇

Luke 9:51-56. “….When the disciples James and John saw this they asked, ‘Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?’ Jesus turned and rebuked them, and they journeyed to another village.” As we end the month, Jesus gave us an example how to deal with hostilities in today’s gospel, choosing not to retaliate, but to continue walking toward greater calling. Instead of escalating the conflict, Jesus simply moved on. Not every battle is worth fighting, and certainly not with revenge. Move forward with resolve, responding to hostility not with destruction but with grace, and keeping our eyes on the greater goal ahead. Goodnight mga Kalakbay. 🙏🙏🙏

John 1:47-51. “…Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.’…” God sees us in the same way with Nathaniel, meeting us where we are, promising greater breakthroughs, deeper understanding, and richer experiences of divine presence as we remain faithful, and sending sending us angels to guide, guard, and encourage us along the way as we celebrate the feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, Archangels today. Nathanael’s simple trust unlocked a vision of the extraordinary. Indeed, greater things are promised to those who believe. A blessed Monday and week ahead mga kalakbay! 😇😇😇

Luke 16:19-31. “Abraham replied, ‘My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime while Lazarus likewise received what was bad; but now he is comforted here, whereas you are tormented.’…” We imagine in today’s gospel the rich man clothed in luxury and dined extravagantly, while Lazarus suffered outside his gate, longing for scraps. Their condition reversed after death. This is not a condemnation of wealth but a warning against selfishness and indifference. Wealth can be a powerful blessing when used for good, but it can also blind us when it becomes only a tool for self-indulgence. Be generous, for one day, we will step into eternity, and the question will not be how much we kept for ourselves, but how much we gave away in love. That’s true wealth! A blessed Sunday mga Kalakbay! 😇😇😇

Luke 9:43B-45. “While they were all amazed at his every deed, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.’…” The disciples in today’s gospel were in awe of the greatness of Jesus but surprised about the coming suffering He mentioned. Oftentimes we view faith as a path to a bed of roses, but we are challenged to see that divine plan often includes difficulties that shape us more than victories ever could. Just as the cross gave way to the light of the resurrection, our trials can become seeds of transformation. When we choose to walk faithfully through both joys and trials, we become living testimonies that true greatness is not measured by applause, but by love that endures to the end. A blessed Saturday and weekend ahead mga Kalakbay! 😇😇😇

Luke 9:18-22. “…Then he said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Peter said in reply, ‘The Christ of God…” Today’s gospel reminds us that it pays to recognize that we have God above everything. However, it is not simply agreeing with a statement of faith but it is an invitation to realign our lives with this truth and teachings. In a world filled with shifting values, endless distractions, and constant pursuit of success, acknowledging God grounds us in something eternal. Today, people look for meaning in money, fame, relationships, or achievements, but still find themselves empty . May our faith be a life-transforming declaration rather than transactional. Goodnight mga Kalakbay! 😇😇😇

Luke 9:7-9 “But Herod said, ‘John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?’ And he kept trying to see him.” Like Herod in today’s gospel, we are longing for truth, identity and purpose. Much have been told, happened and experienced but we remain skeptical. The search for clarity is timeless but let us not stop at curiosity. Curiosity, though valuable, can become a trap if it does not lead to transformation. Let us then listen to the truth and allow our lives to be reshaped. Real transformation happens not when we simply admire truth from afar, but when we let it change the way we live each day. A blessed Thursday! 😇😇😇

Luke 9:1-6. “…He said to them, ‘Take nothing for the journey, neither walking stick, nor sack, nor food, nor money, and let no one take a second tunic’…” Just like the disciples in today’s gospel, we are also sent for a mission. We are reminded to travel light, to avoid being weighed down by possessions. In world that often equates success with accumulation, we do everything just to get more, thus leading us to a complex life. Remember, living a simple life is not a sign of lack, but of freedom that allows us to focus on what is eternal rather than temporal. Good day mga Kalakbay! 🙏🙏🙏

Luke 8:19-21 “…He said to them in reply, “
‘My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.’…” While we are defined by our family ties, social connections, or circles of influence, Jesus shows us in today’s gospel the greatest connection we could ever have, not through bloodline or social standing, but through obedience to God. Being part of God’s family is both a privilege and a calling. It gives us identity, security, and purpose. It tells us we are never alone, for we belong to a household greater than any we could ever imagine. And as we celebrate the Feast of St. Padre Pio, may we live as one spiritual family with faith, serve with love, and endure life’s trials with hope. A blessed Tuesday mga Kalakbay! 😇😇😇

Luke 8:16-18. Jesus said in today’s gospel, “No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lamp stand so that those who enter may see the light…” Today’s world is filled with darkness in many forms including corruption, division, greed, despair. Massive protest happened yesterday and it will continue until such have been addressed. The presence of even a single light can break the power of darkness. We are called to be that light in our families, workplaces, schools, church, and communities. It may feel overwhelming to think of changing the entire nation/world, but change begins with one illuminated heart at a time. 😇😇😇Keep safe mga Kalakbay and have a blessed Monday and week ahead! 🙏🙏🙏

Luke 16:1-13. “…The person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones; and the person who is dishonest in very small matters is also dishonest in great ones…” Today’s gospel speaks volumes about what we are fighting today, against corrupt individuals who mishandled resources entrusted to them. In a consumer-driven world, success is often measured by what we accumulate. Perhaps they started corrupting small amounts until they desired more. May we then guard ourselves against greed even in small things. Remember, faithfulness is often tested not in grand stages but in the small, unseen moments of life. A blessed Sunday mag Kalakbay! 🙏🙏🙏
