John 13:1-15. “…’If then I being your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that as I have done to you, so you do also.” The washing of the feet in today’s gospel is setting a model of servant leadership and humility. It is an invitation to allow Jesus to cleanse us, enabling us to serve others too. Servant leadership is not about being less. It is about loving more. In a society that often pushes us to climb higher, the “washing of the feet” calls us to kneel lower, reflecting a kind of leadership that changes hearts, builds community, and leaves a lasting impact. A blessed Holy Thursday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Matthew 26:14-25. “Then went one of the twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, to the chief priests, And said to them: What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? But they gave him thirty pieces of silver. And from thenceforth he sought opportunity to betray him…” The gospel today reminds us that even those who are closest can choose to turn away due to self interest. Judas’s betrayal reflects the danger of greed. Nowadays, greed may not look like silver coins exchanged in secret, but it appears in different forms. It is manifested when trust is broken for personal gain, when loyalty is sacrificed for popularity, or when values are compromised for convenience. Indeed, betrayal is often rooted in selfishness. May we then guard our hearts. Knowing the truth does not automatically mean commitment but must actively choose to live out what we believe. A blessed Holy Wednesday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

John 13:21-33, 36-38. “Sitting at the table with his disciples, Jesus was troubled in spirit; and he testified, and said: ‘Amen, amen I say to you, one of you shall betray me.’…” Nowadays, it is possible to appear committed on the outside, saying the right words, and doing the expected actions while inwardly drifting away like Judas in today’s gospel. We can also be likened to Peter too, sincerely believing that we are strong enough to stand firm, only to discover in difficult moments that fear and uncertainty shake us. It’s easy to say we are faithful when life is comfortable, but true faith is tested when standing firm comes with a cost. We have weaknesses too, but the good news is that, there is always an invitation to return, to grow, and to become stronger in faith like Peter. A blessed and holy Tuesday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

John 12:1-11. “…Judas Iscariot, he that was about to betray him, said: ‘Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?’ Now he said this, not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and having the purse, carried the things that were put therein, Jesus, therefore, said: Let her alone, that she may keep it against the day of my burial. You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have me.’…” We can be likened to Judas at times, masking selfishness with logic. The act of Mary seemed excessive, even wasteful, but what we failed to understand was that true love does not measure cost, it expresses itself fully. Nowadays, it is possible to appear right on the outside while being misaligned within. Integrity begins in the heart. Stay focused on what truly matters, and trust that every genuine act of love, no matter how misunderstood, carries eternal value. A meaningful Holy Monday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Matthew 26:14-27:66. “One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, ‘What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?’ They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand him over…” We celebrate the Palm Sunday waving branches as a joyful recognition, but in the story of the passion and death of the Lord, the same crowd that once celebrated would soon fall silent, and even turn away. This reminds us that faith is not just about moments of excitement, but about steadfast commitment even when the path becomes difficult. We can be likened to Judas too, who betrayed Jesus because of self interest. This reminds us that faith is not proven in crowds but in quiet decisions especially in choosing integrity when no one is watching, choosing courage over fear, and choosing obedience even inconvenient. A blessed Sunday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

John 11:45-56. “Many of the Jews who had come to Mary and seen what Jesus had done began to believe in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. So the chief priests and the Pharisees convened the Sanhedrin and said, ‘What are we going to do? This man is performing many signs.’…” Like the chief priests and the Pharisees, we respond negatively when truth becomes undeniable, challenging our comfort, control, or personal interests. Nowadays, people are being ridiculed and excluded when they stand for honesty in a corrupt environment. Indeed, when truth disrupts systems built on selfish gain, it is often resisted rather than received. Growth requires surrendering our pride, control, and fear. It is rarely the easiest but it is always the most meaningful. Good night dear Kalakbays! 🙏🙏🙏

John 10:31-42. “…If I do not perform my Father’s works, do not believe me; but if I perform them, even if you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may realize and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.” There are three things worth reflecting in today’s gospel. First, doing good does not always guarantee acceptance. Jesus is being questioned and arrested because of His words and works. Second, strength is often revealed in restraint. Responding with wisdom rather than impulsiveness shows maturity and deep inner peace. Third, knowing who you are and staying grounded in your purpose is very important. We may not always be understood, but we can always choose to be faithful to what is right. In the end, it is not the loudest voice that leaves the greatest mark, but the most consistent life. A blessed Friday dear Kalakbays!😇😇😇😇

John 8:51-59. “…So the Jews said to him, ‘You are not yet fifty years old and you have seen Abraham?’ Jesus said to them, ‘Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.’ So they picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.” Like the Jews, sometimes we are defensive instead of reflecting divine message for us. This happens when we are challenged or uncomfortable with truth. If we want to grow in wisdom, we need to be humble, leading us to experience a life that is not defined by fear, doubt, or limitation, but by hope, purpose, and eternal perspective. A blessed Thursday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

Luke 1:26-38 “…Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” We celebrate the solemnity of the Annunciation today. The “yes” of Mama Mary despite uncertainties reminds us that faith is not simply believing when everything is clear and comfortable. True faith means trusting God even when the path ahead is uncertain. When we live with this kind of trust and humility, extraordinary things can happen. What appears impossible to us can become possible through divine grace. Good evening dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇

John 8:21-30. “Jesus said to the Pharisees: ‘I am going away and you will look for me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going you cannot come.’ So the Jews said, ‘He is not going to kill himself, is he, because he said, ‘Where I am going you cannot come’?…” Still many of the crowd struggle to understand Jesus despite His words, works, and wisdom. Like many of us, it is not simply intellectual confusion but a matter of perspective. When life is measured only by achievements or possessions, we may miss the spiritual direction that gives life its true meaning. Success alone cannot answer the deeper questions of identity, purpose, and faith. Life is more than material progress. It also requires spiritual awareness. A blessed Tuesday! 😇😇😇

John 8:1-11. “…But when they continued asking him, he straightened up and said to them, ‘Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’…” We can be likened to the crowd in today’s gospel, easy to judge but slow to understand. In pointing fingers, we should first examine our own lives. Instead of helping others to learn and grow, we enjoy highlighting the failure. Christ did not rejoiced with the wrong doing but chose
restoration over humiliation. In times like this, let us ask instead, “How can we help this person stand up again?” rather than “How can we prove they are wrong?”Every person has shortcomings, and every person needs grace. When we remember our own imperfections, we become more patient with others. Instead of throwing stones of criticism, we can extend hands of help. A blessed Monday and week ahead! 😇😇😇

John 11:1-45. “…Martha said to Jesus, ‘Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise.’…” The raising of Lazarus in today’s gospel reminds us about hope, transformation, and victory over physical and spiritual death. For Mary and Martha, it must have felt like the answer to their prayers had come too late. We experience the same. We pray, hope, and wait, but the answers do not seem to arrive when we expect them. However, hope is never truly lost. Even in moments of darkness, God can transform despair into new beginnings. When we place our trust to the One, what seems like an ending may become the beginning of something extraordinary. A blessed Sunday dear Kalakbays! 😇😇😇
