On October 10, 2025, the School-Based Immunization (SBI) activity was successfully conducted at Ludovico I. Senador Elementary School through the collaborative efforts of the Municipal Health Office, Barangay Health Workers, Brgy Bololmala Council and the school administration. This annual activity aimed to protect school-aged children against vaccine-preventable diseases and to strengthen the overall immunization coverage within the community.
The activity began early in the morning with proper coordination between the health team and school personnel. A brief orientation was given to the pupils, teachers, and parents regarding the importance of immunization, the specific vaccines to be administered, and the possible mild reactions that may occur after vaccination. The health team, composed of nurses, midwives, and barangay health workers, ensured that all necessary vaccines, logistics, and emergency supplies were properly prepared and maintained under cold chain standards.
Targeted pupils, particularly those belonging to Grade 1 and Grade 4 Female Students,, received the scheduled vaccines according to the Department of Health’s School-Based Immunization Program. These included vaccines for Measles-Rubella (MR), Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) for eligible female students. Each child was screened prior to vaccination, and records were carefully updated in the immunization registry for monitoring and reporting purposes.
