🇵🇭 ARAW NG KAGITINGAN
APRIL 9, 2026

Labuan General Hospital joins the nation in honoring the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of our Filipino heroes.

Today, we remember that heroism is not only found in history—
it is lived every day.

In our setting, we see this same bravery in our kawani ng kalusugan those who continue to serve despite challenges, who stand firm in the face of uncertainty, and who choose compassion, duty, and service above self.

As we honor the past, we also recognize the heroes of today.

Kayo ang mga bayani sa araw-araw.

Mabuhay ang kagitingang Pilipino. 🇵🇭

🩷HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY 🩷

Labuan General Hospital joins the celebration of Easter a time of hope, renewal, and new beginnings.

As we celebrate with our families, especially through outings and swimming activities, we are reminded to keep safety a priority lalo na para sa ating mga bata.

Because hope is alive and so should our commitment to safety and care.

🩷HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY 🩷

Labuan General Hospital joins the celebration of Easter
A reminder of hope, renewal, and the promise of new life.

After the silence of Friday…
after the waiting of Saturday…
comes the victory of Sunday.

Today reminds us that the story does not end in suffering. That what once seemed final was never the end. Because the tomb is empty. And hope is alive.

In every life that feels uncertain, in every burden that feels too heavy, in every moment that feels like the end.

Easter reminds us of this enduring truth: There is still life. There is still hope. There is always a new beginning

At Labuan General Hospital, this message of hope resonates deeply in the way we serve in every life cared for, every patient journey, and every act of compassion.

And today, we are reminded: no matter how dark the night has been, morning still comes.

Because the same God who conquered death, continues to renew life, restore hope, and move among us today.

🖤 BLACK SATURDAY 🖤

Between the cross and the empty tomb, there was SILENCE.

A day of waiting. A day that felt uncertain.

Maybe this is the space we don’t talk about enough the in-between.

At Labuan General Hospital, we know this space well.

It is in the waiting rooms, in the long nights on duty, in the moments when outcomes are uncertain, and all we can offer is presence, care, and quiet hope.

The moments when prayers feel unanswered, when things are unclear, when all we can do is trust and wait.

But even in the silence, God is still at work.

And even when we cannot see it yet, hope is already on its way.

From all of us at Labuan General Hospital, may we find strength in the stillness and faith in the waiting. 🖤

🤍 GOOD FRIDAY 🤍

Some days invite us to slow down… and remember what truly matters.

This Good Friday, we remember what God has done on the cross, LOVE that did not turn away from pain, but chose to endure it and transform it into purpose.

A love that chose sacrifice, so hope could remain within reach for all of us.

As we go through our own journeys, may we hold on to these quiet truths:
• Compassion matters
• Sacrifice has meaning
• Even in the hardest moments, there is still grace

From all of us at Labuan General Hospital, may this day be a moment of reflection, renewing our faith in healing, in one another, and in the hope made possible through the cross.

Because on the cross, LOVE was not defeated it was poured out… once and for all. 🤍

NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH 2026 | CULMINATING ACTIVITY 💜

At Labuan General Hospital, we believe that when women are empowered, communities become stronger.

In celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, the Public Health Unit (PHU) successfully led the hospital’s culminating activity on March 31, 2026, bringing together women employees in a meaningful celebration of leadership, resilience, and shared purpose.

Anchored on the theme “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas,” the activity honored the invaluable role of women in healthcare and community development recognizing not just what they do, but the impact they create every day.

The program opened with a Zumba session, promoting wellness and reminding us that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. This was followed by a Women Leadership Talk delivered by Dr. Anna Eunice A. Sapasap, PHU Head, highlighting the role of women as leaders, advocates, and change makers in both the health system and the communities we serve.

One of the most meaningful parts of the activity was the Commitment Wall, where participants shared personal pledges—quiet promises rooted in growth, purpose, and continued service. A photo booth captured moments of unity and celebration, reflecting the strength found in community.

A Women’s Booth was also set up, where IEC materials were distributed alongside free vitamins and tokens of appreciation—simple gestures that carry a deeper message: that the dedication of women in healthcare is seen, valued, and honored.

More than a culmination, this activity was a reminder:
Leadership is not defined by position, but by purpose.

As we close this year’s celebration, we reaffirm our commitment to a workplace and a health system where women are empowered, supported, and given space to lead.

Because at LGH, when women lead—they heal, they inspire, and they transform communities.

RABIES AWARENESS MONTH 2026

At Labuan General Hospital, prevention is not just a program it is a shared responsibility.

In line with Rabies Awareness Month, the Public Health Unit (PHU), together with the Nursing Service Office (NSO), successfully conducted an Update on Rabies Programs and Orientation on Rabies Transmission and Bite Management Workshop on March 30, 2026.

Anchored on the theme “Rabies-Free na Pusa’t A*o, Kaligtasan ng Pamilyang Pilipino,” the activity aimed to strengthen the capacity of our healthcare workers in preventing rabies, promoting responsible pet ownership, and ensuring timely and appropriate management of animal bite cases.

The session was facilitated by our resource speaker, Mr. Nieto Fernandez Jr., RN, MHA, DOH ZP CHD Animal Bite Coordinator and actively participated in by our dedicated nurses and doctors—front liners who play a critical role in protecting our communities from rabies.

As PHU, we continue to emphasize this:
Rabies is 100% preventable, yet 100% fatal once symptoms appear.

This is why our efforts go beyond clinical management toward education, early intervention, and strong interdepartmental collaboration.

Together, we move with one goal:
A Rabies-Free Philippines where every life is protected, and every prevention effort matters. 🐶🐱💉

💜 WOMEN WHO LEAD, WOMEN WHO SERVE 💜

At Labuan General Hospital, leadership is not defined by position—but by purpose.

As we close National Women’s Month, we honor the strength, compassion, and quiet resilience of the women who continue to serve at the frontlines of healthcare—our nurses.

From our wards to our communities, their commitment goes beyond duty. It is service anchored in care, courage, and malasakit. Day and night, they stand beside every patient healing, comforting, and carrying the weight of responsibility with both skill and heart.

Today, we recognize not just one, but many our LGH nurses whose dedication reflects the very core of our mission. Their work reminds us that every act of care, no matter how routine it may seem, contributes to something greater: healing, hope, and trust in our health system.

As we celebrate women in leadership, we affirm this:

Leadership is lived daily in every patient cared for, every life touched, and every challenge faced with grace.

At LGH, we continue to stand for a healthcare system where women are not only seen but empowered, supported, and recognized.

Because when women lead in care, communities thrive. 💜

NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH CELEBRATION 2026 💜

Women rising. Women leading. Women empowering communities.

In celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, an outreach activity was successfully conducted at the Labuan Covered Court, Labuan, Zamboanga City on March 27, 2026 bringing together women for a day of purpose, learning, and empowerment.

Anchored on the theme “Lead Like the Babaylans: Filipinas in Leadership,” the activity featured an inspiring Leadership Talk and vital health education sessions on Breast Cancer Awareness and Cervical Cancer Awareness—reminding us that strong leadership begins with caring for one’s health.

Our dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) and members of the Labuan Women’s Association stood at the heart of this initiative actively participating, engaging, and continuing their mission of bringing healthcare closer to the community. In recognition of their unwavering service, Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to our BHWs—our silent leaders on the ground.

More than a celebration, this was a movement, a gathering of women who lead, serve, and uplift others.

Learners Health Assessment (LHA’S) and Screening Activity
March 4–18, 2026 | Labuan Central School

Kinder: 502 learners (247 male, 255 female)
Grade 1: 516 learners (269 male, 247 female)

✔️ Vision Screening (Paningin)
Kinder: 491 / 502 = 97%
Grade 1: 481 / 516 = 93%

✔️ Hearing Screening (Pandinig)
Kinder: 486 / 502 = 96%
Grade 1: 481 / 516 = 93%

✔️ General Head-to-Toe Physical Examination
Kinder: 486 / 502 = 96%
Grade 1: 481 / 516 = 93%

✔️ Oral Health Assessment
Kinder: 399 / 502 = 79%
Grade 1: 247 / 516 = 47%

✔️ Psychosocial Assessment
Kinder: 486 / 502 = 96%
Grade 1: 481 / 516 = 93%

✔️ Nutritional Assessment
Kinder: 502 / 502 = 100%
Grade 1: 481 / 516 = 93%

✔️ Maagang interbensyon
