HD, MD, and Administrative Officers conducted hospital round.

Swabi: Following the directions of the Board of Governors to strengthen healthcare services and ensure patient safety, the Hospital Director (HD), Medical Director (MD), and Administrative Officers of BKMC MTI conducted a comprehensive round of key areas of the hospital.

During the visit, they inspected the OPD, Fair Price Pharmacy, Sehat Card Pharmacy, CT Scan unit, and Lithotripsy unit.

On-the-spot directions were issued where necessary to improve service delivery and address any observed gaps.

The HD and MD emphasized that there will be zero tolerance for negligence, particularly regarding staff attendance and care.

It was also directed that all services will be provided under the Sehat Card Plus Program and no cash payments will be accepted.

Swabi: As per the direction of the Chairman, BOG GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi, initiatives have been undertaken to strengthen the Emergency Department.

These include regular audits, executive rounds, and the establishment of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for periodic reporting to the Board.

In this regard, the Medical Director, along with the Manager Quality Assurance Department, conducted a comprehensive visit of Emergency Department.

The Incharge ER, Manager ER, and Bed Management Officer were briefed on the implementation of KPIs.

During the visit, all key aspects were reviewed, and the concerned staff were advised accordingly to ensure compliance with standards and improvement in service delivery.

A proud achievement at THQ Topi.

Head of Gynae Department and Assistant Professor, Dr. Nadia Rani successfully performed a highly challenging surgery on a young patient who presented with a massive fibroid uterus.

Despite the complexity of the case, the surgery was carried out with great skill and care. Alhamdulillah, the procedure was completed successfully without any pre-operative or post-operative complications.

Meeting Between MCB Islamic Bank Official and BKMC-MTI Management Held.

Swabi: The Group Head of MCB Islamic Bank, Mr Ashar Iqbal along with his team, Mr Sohail Akhtar General Manager and Asif Khan Regional Head, held a meeting with the Hospital Director of BKMC-MTI, Dr. Khalid Masud and Administrative Officer.

During the meeting, both MCB Islamic Bank officials and the management of BKMC-MTI agreed to establish a strong liaison aimed at the overall betterment of students, doctors, nurses, and other staff members.

The MCB Islamic Bank team assured their full cooperation in providing financial assistance and supporting various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in collaboration with BKMC and GKMC.

تدریسی ہسپتال باچا خان میڈیکل کمپلیکس صوابی میں کیتھ لیب کے قیام کی منظوری دے دی گئی

پشاور: محکمہ صحت خیبرپختونخوا نے مالی سال 2025-26 کے ترقیاتی پروگرام کے تحت باچا خان میڈیکل کمپلیکس (ایم ٹی آئی) صوابی میں کیتھ لیب کے قیام کی باقاعدہ انتظامی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ سرکاری دستاویز کے مطابق اس منصوبے پر تقریباً 570 ملین روپے لاگت آئے گی، جو صوبے کے مختلف ہسپتالوں میں کیتھ لیب کے قیام کے بڑے منصوبے کا حصہ ہے۔

کیتھ لیب کے قیام سے نہ صرف ضلع صوابی بلکہ قریبی اضلاع کے عوام کو بھی جدید طبی سہولیات میسر آئیں گی اور دل کے مریضوں کو علاج کے لیے دور دراز شہروں کا رخ نہیں کرنا پڑے گا۔ یہ منصوبہ عرصہ دراز سے ایک اہم ضرورت کے طور پر زیر غور تھا، جس کے لیے باچا خان میڈیکل کمپلیکس کی انتظامیہ، بورڈ آف گورنرز اور قومی اسمبلی کے سابق اسپیکر اسد قیصر مسلسل کوششیں کرتے رہے، جو بالآخر کامیاب ہوئیں۔

ہسپتال ڈائریکٹر ڈاکٹر خالد مسود نے اس اہم پیش رفت پر خوشی کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے بورڈ آف گورنرز اور سابق اسپیکر قومی اسمبلی کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کیتھ لیب کا قیام ایک دیرینہ مطالبہ تھا جو اب عملی شکل اختیار کر چکا ہے اور اس سے علاقے میں صحت کی سہولیات میں نمایاں بہتری آئے گی۔

Chairman Paediatrics & Neonatology Visits THQ Topi-MTI, Swabi

Swabi: Chairman Paediatrics and Neonatology, GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi, Prof. Dr. Sijjad-Ur-Rehman, paid a surprise visit to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital (THQ) Topi-MTI, Swabi.

Associate Hospital Director (AHD) Dr. Gul Parez and his team welcomed him and briefed him on the hospital’s overall performance, with a particular focus on paediatric and child healthcare services.

Various issues related to the Paediatrics Unit were discussed, and possible solutions were proposed accordingly.

In-charge Paediatrics, Dr. Ahmed Khizar, was also present and shared detailed data regarding paediatric and neonatology services.

Swabi: A group of 37 students from Concordia College Swabi, accompanied by their teachers, visited Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC-MTI), Swabi, as part of an educational study tour.

The purpose of the visit was to gain insight into hospital management, services, and operational activities. Upon arrival, the students were introduced to the Hospital Director, who warmly welcomed them and provided a brief overview of BKMC-MTI, highlighting its structure, functions, and service delivery system.

During the visit, the students toured key departments of the hospital, including various wards, the Emergency Department, Microbiology Laboratory, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Cardiac Care Unit (CCU). Medical professionals in each department briefed them about their roles, responsibilities, and the services provided.

The visit proved to be highly informative, and the students gained valuable knowledge about hospital operations and healthcare services.

Swabi: The 26th meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) of GKMC/BKMC-MTI and Allied THQs, Swabi, was held on April 1, 2026, in the Committee Room under the chairmanship of Major General (R) Muhammad Salah Uddin Qasam.

Members BOG, Prof. Dr. Tufail Muhammad and Mr. Irfan Salim Awan attended the meeting in person, while Ms. Komal Fizza joined online.

The meeting began with prayers for the departed souls of the father of Dr. Tariq Shahab and BKMC porter Asif Khan.
Agendas presented by executive and administrative officers were discussed in detail, and decisions were made accordingly.

The Board reviewed the Dean/CEO’s GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi agenda regarding the establishment of the Dental College, Allied Health Institute, and purpose-built building for Nigar College of Nursing.

It was decided that the Allied Health Sciences Institute will be named after the renowned late paediatrician and former member of the BOG GKMC/BKMC, Prof. Dr. Ashfaque, and will be called "𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐟𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬-𝐌𝐓𝐈, 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐢".

Mr. Hizbullah, Principal NCN, was appointed as Project Coordinator for the establishment of proposed Nigar College of Nursing.

The Hospital Director presented the last three months’ progress, provided updates on under-construction projects, and briefed the forum on recent developments regarding the Cath Lab, MRI, IT infrastructure, new laboratory, and Clinical Tower. The Hospital Director also proposed the establishment of medical records which was approved by the BOG.

The Nursing Director presented an agenda regarding the inclusion of additional KMU graduates in the internship program, with the stipend to be supported by KMU, which was approved by the Board.

The Medical Director presented the last three months’ reports and informed the Board that all Operation Theatres, including those in the ER, Labor Room, and newly established Operation Rooms, are now fully functional.

MD added that a 12-bedded Surgical ICU will soon be operational. KPI reports of all clinical departments were also presented and appreciated by the Chairman, who emphasized regular evaluations.

The Manager Internal Audit presented findings from recent internal audits conducted across various departments, which were appreciated by the forum.

The Board reiterated that Institutional-Based Private Practice (IBPP) should be implemented for MTI consultants to benefit the public under one roof. Emphasis was also placed on improving emergency services, and the steps taken for Emergency Triage were appreciated.

The establishment of pharmacies in THQ Topi and THQ Chota Lahor was also discussed. The Board was informed that the fair price pharmacy in Topi is already functional, while the one in Chota Lahor will become operational soon.

Swabi: Following the suggestions from the E-Khuli Kachehri, a training session for the Accident & Emergency staff of BKMC-MTI Swabi was successfully conducted in the auditorium hall.

The session was attended by all emergency staff, including security personnel, porters, nurses, and Minor OT staff. Participants gained valuable knowledge and a practical understanding of the triage system.

The training was organized by the Nursing Directorate in collaboration with the Emergency Department.

Mr. Saif Siddiqui, Nursing Lecturer at NCN, served as the trainer and delivered an insightful session on the triage system. He explained the management of mass trauma cases, effective communication skills, and the different types and categories of emergency patients.

He emphasized that good communication leads to positive behaviour and improved patient care.

He thoroughly explained emergency severity index, a triage system which is currently established in our emergency department.

The Hospital Director (HD), Medical Director (MD), and Nursing Director (ND) also addressed the participants. They highlighted and stressed the importance of professional and respectful behaviour towards patients and their attendants.
