𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐎𝐆 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐆𝐊𝐌𝐂/𝐁𝐊𝐌𝐂-𝐌𝐓𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐇𝐐𝐬, 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐢, 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝.

Swabi: The 26th meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) of GKMC/BKMC-MTI and Allied THQs, Swabi, was held on April 1, 2026, in the Committee Room under the chairmanship of Major General (R) Muhammad Salah Uddin Qasam.
Members BOG, Prof. Dr. Tufail Muhammad and Mr. Irfan Salim Awan attended the meeting in person, while Ms. Komal Fizza joined online.
The meeting began with prayers for the departed souls of the father of Dr. Tariq Shahab and BKMC porter Asif Khan.
Agendas presented by executive and administrative officers were discussed in detail, and decisions were made accordingly.
The Board reviewed the Dean/CEO’s GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi agenda regarding the establishment of the Dental College, Allied Health Institute, and purpose-built building for Nigar College of Nursing.
It was decided that the Allied Health Sciences Institute will be named after the renowned late paediatrician and former member of the BOG GKMC/BKMC, Prof. Dr. Ashfaque, and will be called "𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐟𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬-𝐌𝐓𝐈, 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐢".
Mr. Hizbullah, Principal NCN, was appointed as Project Coordinator for the establishment of proposed Nigar College of Nursing.
The Hospital Director presented the last three months’ progress, provided updates on under-construction projects, and briefed the forum on recent developments regarding the Cath Lab, MRI, IT infrastructure, new laboratory, and Clinical Tower. The Hospital Director also proposed the establishment of medical records which was approved by the BOG.
The Nursing Director presented an agenda regarding the inclusion of additional KMU graduates in the internship program, with the stipend to be supported by KMU, which was approved by the Board.
The Medical Director presented the last three months’ reports and informed the Board that all Operation Theatres, including those in the ER, Labor Room, and newly established Operation Rooms, are now fully functional.
MD added that a 12-bedded Surgical ICU will soon be operational. KPI reports of all clinical departments were also presented and appreciated by the Chairman, who emphasized regular evaluations.
The Manager Internal Audit presented findings from recent internal audits conducted across various departments, which were appreciated by the forum.
The Board reiterated that Institutional-Based Private Practice (IBPP) should be implemented for MTI consultants to benefit the public under one roof. Emphasis was also placed on improving emergency services, and the steps taken for Emergency Triage were appreciated.
The establishment of pharmacies in THQ Topi and THQ Chota Lahor was also discussed. The Board was informed that the fair price pharmacy in Topi is already functional, while the one in Chota Lahor will become operational soon.
