Inauguration Ceremony of Polio Eradication Campaign – October 2025
October 17, 2025 – District Bannu
The Polio Eradication Campaign, which is set to begin in District Bannu from October 20, 2025, was officially inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Bannu, Mr. Muhammad Faheem, by administering polio drops to children.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Umar Khattab, District Health Officer Dr. Sher Khan, Assistant Commissioners, DEOC Core Team, and officers from other relevant departments were also present.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that three confirmed cases of polio have recently been reported in District Bannu, along with a positive result from an environmental sample — a matter of serious concern for all of us. The only way to protect our children from this threat is through polio vaccination.
He appealed to parents to fully cooperate with polio teams, keep their doors open for them, and actively participate in this national duty.
In conclusion, the Deputy Commissioner said, "Let us all pledge together to make Bannu permanently polio-free."
