Provincial Quality Control Board (PQCB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 352nd & 353rd Meetings
The 352nd and 353rd meetings of the Provincial Quality Control Board (PQCB), Health Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were held on 14th and 15th April 2026 under the chairmanship of Secretary Health, Mr. Shahid Ullah Khan (Chairman PQCB), with Mr. Mansoor Arshad (Vice Chairman PQCB), Dr. Abbas Khan (Director General, Drug Control & Pharmacy Services), Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim (Secretary Board), Chairman Department of Pharmacy, Professor of Pharmacology KMC, Hakim Abdul Waheed, Director General Health Services, and the Secretary Pharmacy Council in attendance.
During the meetings, a total of 123 cases from various districts including Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Battagram, Swabi, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Nowshera were thoroughly reviewed and decided. Drug Inspectors presented cases before the Board seeking permission under relevant provisions of the Drug Act.
The Board ordered the registration of 17 FIRs against individuals involved in the sale and distribution of spurious drugs. Furthermore, 60 cases were referred to the Drug Court for judicial proceedings. In addition, 26 drug samples were sent to the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, for re-testing under Section 22(5) of the Drug Act, 1976. Warnings were issued in 17 cases, while one case was remanded for re-inspection.
The Secretary Health, along with senior officials, appreciated the efforts of the field force and reiterated a strong commitment to eliminating spurious and illegal drugs from the province. A clear directive was issued to take strict action against those involved in the manufacture, supply, and sale of such drugs, ensuring they are dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
The PQCB reaffirmed its resolve to safeguard public health by ensuring the availability of safe, effective, and quality medicines across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

صوبائی کوالٹی کنٹرول بورڈ (PQCB)، محکمہ صحت خیبر پختونخوا کے 352ویں اور 353ویں اجلاس 14 اور 15 اپریل 2026 کو سیکرٹری صحت جناب شاہد اللہ خان (چیئرمین PQCB) کی زیر صدارت منعقد ہوئے۔ اجلاس میں جناب منصور ارشد (وائس چیئرمین PQCB)، ڈاکٹر عباس خان (ڈائریکٹر جنرل ڈرگ کنٹرول اینڈ فارمیسی سروسز)، محمد ابراہیم (سیکرٹری بورڈ)، چیئرمین ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف فارمیسی، پروفیسر آف فارماکولوجی KMC، حکیم عبدالوحید , ڈائریکٹر جنرل ہیلتھ سروس اور سیکرٹری فارمیسی کونسل سمیت دیگر متعلقہ حکام نے شرکت کی۔
اجلاس کے دوران پشاور، کوہاٹ، مردان، بٹگرام، صوابی، بنوں، ڈیرہ اسماعیل خان اور نوشہرہ سمیت مختلف اضلاع سے موصول ہونے والے کل 123 کیسز کا تفصیلی جائزہ لے کر ان پر فیصلے کیے گئے۔ ڈرگ انسپکٹرز نے متعلقہ قوانین کے تحت کارروائی کی اجازت حاصل کرنے کے لیے اپنے کیسز بورڈ کے سامنے پیش کیے۔
بورڈ نے جعلی (سپوریئس) ادویات کے کاروبار میں ملوث افراد کے خلاف 17 ایف آئی آر درج کرنے کے احکامات جاری کیے، جبکہ 60 کیسز کو عدالتی کارروائی کے لیے ڈرگ کورٹ کو بھیج دیا گیا۔ مزید برآں، 26 ادویات کے نمونے ڈرگ ایکٹ 1976 کی دفعہ 22(5) کے تحت دوبارہ تجزیہ کے لیے نیشنل انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ہیلتھ (NIH) اسلام آباد روانہ کیے گئے۔ 17 کیسز میں وارننگ جاری کی گئی جبکہ ایک کیس کو دوبارہ انسپکشن کے لیے واپس بھیج دیا گیا۔
سیکرٹری صحت، اور ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری صحت نے فیلڈ فورس کی کارکردگی کو سراہتے ہوئے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ صوبے سے جعلی اور غیر قانونی ادویات کے خاتمے کے لیے سخت اقدامات جاری رکھے جائیں گے۔ انہوں نے واضح پیغام دیا کہ اس مکروہ دھندے میں ملوث عناصر کے خلاف بلاامتیاز اور سخت قانونی کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے گی۔
صوبائی کوالٹی کنٹرول بورڈ نے عوام کو معیاری، محفوظ اور مؤثر ادویات کی فراہمی یقینی بنانے کے لیے اپنے عزم کا اعادہ کیا۔
