Today, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, visited Gilgit Cardiac Hospital. He was received by Health Secretary Mr. Asif Ullah Khan.During the visit, Medical Superintendent Dr. Farmanullah briefed the minister on the hospital’s current OPD services, including cardiac consultations, ECG and medication dispensing and outlined plans for future expansions such as upgrading the catheterisation laboratory, establishing a cardiac surgery unit, and introducing telemedicine.Director General Health Dr. Sadiq Shah, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Syed Sirtaj Hussian, and Project Director Engr. Shahid Masood were also present during the visit.

Contractor have started site preparation work for the installation of the third angiography machine,donated by the Government of Punjab. A productive meeting was held today, led by Dr. Farmanullah, Medical Superintendent, and Project Director Engr. Shahid Masood, to finalize the work plan with the contractor/vendor. This initiative will further enhance the hospital's cardiology services.
