A recently published paper "Subjective donor deferral as a tool for increased blood transfusion safety: A cross sectional observational study"

Routine implementation of SDD in donor selection may be an effective additional measure to avoid TTIs, highlighting the importance of interviewer experience, perspicacity, and face-to-face contact with donors for blood safety assurance.

The Transfusion Practitioners (TPs) are a clinical working party of the (International Society of Blood Transfusion).

TPs and the ISBT have developed 13 academic awareness which can be used by blood centres for sensitization of clinical practitioners.
