World Mental Health Day – 10th October 2025

World Mental Health Day was observed today at the University of Haripur. The event was successfully organized through the collaboration of the Center for Counselling and Wellbeing and the Department of Psychiatry, DHQ Hospital.

Distinguished speakers highlighted the importance of mental health and emphasized the need for awareness and support in the community. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a mental health awareness walk, promoting the message of wellbeing and resilience.

1. شیزوفرینیا کیا ہے؟
شیزوفرینیا ایک ذہنی بیماری ہے جس میں انسان حقیقت اور خیالی چیزوں میں فرق کرنے میں مشکل محسوس کرتا ہے۔
2. اس بیماری کی عام علامات کون سی ہوتی ہیں؟
عام علامات میں وہم (delusions)، خیالی آوازیں سننا (hallucinations)، غیر منظم سوچ، عجیب رویّہ، اور سماجی تنہائی شامل ہیں۔
3. شیزوفرینیا میں وہم اور خیالی آوازیں کیوں آتی ہیں؟
یہ دماغ میں کیمیکلز (خصوصاً ڈوپامین) کے توازن بگڑنے کی وجہ سے ہوتا ہے، جس سے دماغ حقیقت کو صحیح طریقے سے پروسیس نہیں کر پاتا۔
4. یہ بیماری زیادہ تر کس عمر میں ظاہر ہوتی ہے؟
عموماً یہ بیماری 16 سے 30 سال کی عمر کے درمیان ظاہر ہوتی ہے۔
5. شیزوفرینیا کی بنیادی وجوہات کیا سمجھی جاتی ہیں؟
وجوہات میں جینیاتی عوامل، دماغی کیمیائی تبدیلیاں، ذہنی دباؤ، اور بعض اوقات منشیات کا استعمال شامل ہیں۔
6. کیا یہ بیماری موروثی (وراثتی) بھی ہو سکتی ہے؟
جی ہاں، اگر خاندان میں کسی کو یہ بیماری رہی ہو تو دوسرے افراد میں اس کا امکان زیادہ ہوتا ہے۔
7. شیزوفرینیا اور عام ذہنی دباؤ (depression) میں کیا فرق ہے؟
ڈپریشن میں انسان زیادہ تر اداسی اور دلچسپی ختم ہونے کا شکار ہوتا ہے، لیکن شیزوفرینیا میں حقیقت سے تعلق ٹوٹنے لگتا ہے اور خیالی چیزیں نظر یا سنائی دینے لگتی ہیں۔
8. کیا شیزوفرینیا کے مریض عام زندگی گزار سکتے ہیں؟
جی ہاں، اگر مریض کو بروقت علاج، دوائیں اور سماجی تعاون ملے تو وہ عام زندگی گزار سکتے ہیں۔
9. شیزوفرینیا کے مریض کو کن مشکلات کا سامنا ہوتا ہے؟
سماجی تعلقات میں مشکلات، تعلیم اور ملازمت میں رکاوٹ، فیصلے کرنے میں دشواری، اور کبھی کبھار معاشرتی بدنامی۔
10. اس بیماری کے علاج میں کون سی دوائیاں استعمال کی جاتی ہیں؟
عموماً "اینٹی سائیکوٹک" (Antipsychotics) دوائیں دی جاتی ہیں، جو دماغ کے کیمیائی توازن کو بہتر کرتی ہیں۔
11. کیا شیزوفرینیا کا مکمل علاج ممکن ہے؟
مکمل طور پر ختم ہونا کم ہی ہوتا ہے، لیکن دواؤں اور تھراپی کے ذریعے مریض کی حالت کو کافی حد تک بہتر اور قابو میں رکھا جا سکتا ہے۔
12. خاندان اور سماجی تعاون مریض کی بہتری میں کس طرح مددگار ثابت ہوتا ہے؟
حوصلہ افزائی، سمجھ بوجھ، مثبت رویّہ، اور باقاعدہ علاج جاری رکھنے میں مدد مریض کے لیے بہت مفید ثابت ہوتی ہے۔
13. شیزوفرینیا کے مریض کے رویّے میں کن تبدیلیوں پر توجہ دینی چاہیے؟
اچانک غصہ، خود کو الگ تھلگ کر لینا، عجیب حرکات یا خیالات، اور علاج کی دوائیں چھوڑ دینا — یہ علامات نظر آئیں تو فوراً توجہ دینی چاہیے۔
14. کیا شیزوفرینیا کے مریض کو ملازمت یا تعلیم جاری رکھنے میں مشکل ہوتی ہے؟
جی ہاں، لیکن اگر علاج اور رہنمائی وقت پر ملے تو مریض اپنی تعلیم اور ملازمت دونوں جاری رکھ سکتا ہے۔
15. اس بیماری کے بارے میں معاشرے میں پائی جانے والی غلط فہمیاں کون سی ہیں؟
عام غلط فہمیاں یہ ہیں کہ شیزوفرینیا والے سب خطرناک ہوتے ہیں (جو کہ درست نہیں)، یہ بیماری علاج سے ٹھیک نہیں ہو سکتی، یا یہ کہ یہ صرف "کمزور اعصاب" کی وجہ سے ہے۔
کیا آپ چاہیں گے کہ میں ان سوال و جواب کو ایک بروشر/ہینڈ آؤٹ کی شکل میں خوبصورت انداز میں ترتیب دے دوں تاکہ آگاہی مہم میں استعمال ہو سکے؟
