Serratus push ups for serratus anterior🧠🩻

👉👉Serratus push-ups are an effective therapeutic exercise used to activate and strengthen the serratus anterior muscle, which plays a key role in scapular stability and upper-limb functional movement. In stroke patients, weakness or poor activation of the serratus anterior often contributes to scapular winging, reduced shoulder stability, impaired reaching, and difficulty performing daily functional tasks.

👉The exercise also enhances scapulothoracic rhythm, improves proximal stability, and supports better motor relearning of the affected upper limb.

👉For stroke rehabilitation, serratus push-ups may be introduced in modified forms—such as wall push-ups, quadruped (all-four) positioning, or elevated surfaces—based on patient strength and motor control. Consistent practice helps reduce abnormal synergy patterns, improves reaching ability, and supports safer, more coordinated upper-limb function.

Poor posture can occur for various reasons—extended hours at a desk, leaning over smartphones, or carrying heavy bags. Lie on your stomach with your head hanging off the edge of a bed or bench. Slowly lift your head, and then lower down to strengthen neck muscles. Lateral flexion:

Lie down on one side with your head hanging slightly off the edge of the bed or table. Gently lift your head toward your shoulder, engaging the side neck muscles. Maintain this position for 5–10 seconds, and then slowly return to the starting position. Repeat the exercise 10–15 times on each side, making sure to switch sides after completing the reps.
