A case of neuralgia cured by Sepia.
The patient was a cheerful lady, active, and energetic with dark hair and a florid complexion.
Presenting Complaint:
- Severe neuralgia persisting for two years.
- Maddening boring pain in the left temple, as if a screw were being driven slowly.
- Exacerbation of pain due to overwork and mental strain associated with increasing business demands.
- Mental confusion and difficulty comprehending work after the pain subsides.
- Rare sleep due to evening exacerbations.
Symptoms:
- Neuralgic pain, confusion, and difficulty concentrating are the primary symptoms.
- Evening exacerbation and rare sleep contribute to the overall symptomatology.
Modalities:
- Aggravation from overwork and mental strain.
- Evening aggravations.
- Amelioration from sleep.
Concomitant Symptoms:
- Habitual constipation is noted.
Mental and Emotional State:
- Mental confusion and incapacity to comprehend work are highlighted.

Treatment:
- Sepia was prescribed in a few globules in water, with a spoonful to be taken at once.
- A second dose led to aggravation, followed by marked relief and a permanent cure.
