The obturator internus (OI) can cause deep hip pain and pelvic floor pain. The OI is part of the "deep six" along with the other lateral rotators of the hip. Along with the obturator externus, it keeps the hip joint in its proper place in the acetabulum. NKT often finds the OI overworking and the psoas underworking, as well as the OI overworking and the re**us femoris underworking. This article details how to assess and treat the role of the OI in hip pain.
