Since I was a little girl, my mother would always tell me to believe in magic. That anything I wished for could come true. It did not mean that I could start flying but that limitations were only in my mind. This adage became my anchor and my North Star through the storms of life. It reminded me that any difficult experience was only temporary. Ultimately, I had the power to co-create my dreams along with the Creator’s will. It is no wonder that I went from having crippling anxiety to a yoga teacher who taught so many. It has been an 8 year journey and today I am a 500 hours certified yoga teacher who is grateful to have brought ease and lightness into her student’s lives

I was 23 when I was diagnosed with a generalised anxiety disorder. I experienced heart palpitations often, everything seemed overwhelming and out of my control. Then I discovered yoga and within just a week of practicing, I noticed that my anxiety symptoms had subsided. This was not a co-incidence. Yoga has been scientifically proven to reduce anxiety systems by activating the parasympathetic nervous system of the body (also known as the ‘rest and digest’ system) and turning off the sympathetic nervous system of the body (which is the overthinking, hyper-vigilant mind)

Pranayama (breathing techniques), holding yoga asanas and stretching the muscles helps to achieve an equanimous state. Other benefits of yoga include toning, strength, flexibility, improved concentration and will power and weight management, youthfulness, nose breathing as opposed to mouth breathing and a sharper intuition.

I believe that if you aren’t doing yoga, you are missing out on something that can transform your life ✨
