Strengthening Digital Health Capacity in ICT
HISP Pakistan successfully concluded a five-day Training of Trainers (ToT) for the ICT Health Department on the DHIS2 based Health Information & Management System (HIMS).
The training provided comprehensive, hands-on exposure to end-to-end system components, including:
🔹 Web-based and offline mobile data collection
🔹 DHIS2 system configuration and metadata setup
🔹 Health data management and quality assurance
🔹 Data visualization, analytics, and dashboard design
The closing and certificate distribution ceremony was honored by the presence of DHO Islamabad, Dr. Syeda Rashid, Dr. Johar from UNICEF, and Mr. Adnan Basir, CEO-HISP Pakistan. Certificates were distributed by the DHO Islamabad, who also appreciated the collaborative efforts in strengthening digital health capacity within the ICT.

HISP Pakistan recently conducted a DHIS2 based HMIS training for teams from the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and IFRC, with support from the Norwegian Red Cross.
The sessions focused on practical system use, data quality, analysis, and dashboard development to strengthen data-driven decision-making across health programs.

📢 DHIS2 Fully Implemented Across All Districts of Balochistan — A Major Milestone in Digital Health!
HISP Pakistan, as the technical partner to the Health Department Balochistan and in collaboration with UNICEF, is proud to support the province in achieving a historic milestone — the complete rollout of DHIS2 across all districts of Balochistan.
During the recent meeting of the Balochistan Health Management Information System (BHMIS) Core Committee, chaired by the Honorable Provincial Minister for Health, Mr. Bakht Muhammad Kakar, the committee was briefed on the remarkable progress in digital health reforms.
HISP Pakistan reaffirmed the commitment to supporting Balochistan as a national role model for digital health transformation, while partners acknowledged the province’s leadership and the global recognition it continues to receive.
We congratulate the Health Department Balochistan, BHMIS team, and all partners for their dedication to advancing data-driven decision-making, transparency, and improved service delivery for the people of Balochistan.

HISP Pakistan, in collaboration with UNICEF, successfully concluded a Two-Day Cascade Training on DHIS2-Based Reporting and Recording Tools, organized by the Department of Health, Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The training focused on strengthening participants’ practical skills in digital health reporting.
Day 1 covering key reporting tools and an overview of DHIS2 application, while Day 2 featured detailed system demos of the DHIS2 Web and Mobile Data Entry App, along with sessions on reports, dashboard and customization, and hands-on practice. This initiative reflects a strong commitment to building sustainable, data-driven health systems through capacity building and digital transformation.

Strengthening DHIS2 Reporting and Data Quality: Two-Day Technical Meeting at HISP Pakistan
HISP Pakistan, with support from UNICEF, held a two-day technical meeting from 22–23 October 2025 at its Islamabad Head Office with participation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) DHIS Cell. The meeting focused on addressing reporting challenges, introducing new data sets for Primary and Secondary Health Care, and improving data quality and validation in DHIS2. Discussions covered data completeness, timeliness, and accuracy, as well as configuration of new data sets across web and Android platforms.
The engagement reinforced joint efforts to enhance DHIS2 implementation and ensure reliable, high-quality health data for effective planning and decision-making.

Empowering Data for Impact!
HISP Pakistan was honored to serve as the technical support partner for the DHIS2 Training organized by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in collaboration with the Norwegian Red Cross in Peshawar.

This initiative aims to strengthen health reporting and digital systems across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Merged Areas, advancing PRCS’s vision of a data-driven humanitarian response.

Under the visionary leadership of Chair Lady Farzhana Naek and with the technical guidance of the PMER Department, this training marks a significant milestone in PRCS’s Digital Transformation Journey.

We commend Chairman PRCS Merged Areas Adv. Imran Wazir for his inspiring opening and closing remarks and Secretary PRCS Merged Areas Saeed Kamal for emphasizing the operational value of DHIS2 in improving efficiency and organizational learning.

The Learning Event on DHIS2 Implementation and Data Use was hosted by the World Bank on 16th October 2025 in Lahore, bringing together key stakeholders from provincial health departments, HISP Pakistan, and partner organizations including the Gates Foundation. The session served as an important platform to share experiences, review progress, and explore strategies to strengthen data-driven decision-making across health programs.
Discussions focused on improving data quality, enhancing dashboard utilization, integrating program indicators, and building the capacity of health staff for effective DHIS2 implementation. The event concluded with actionable recommendations to improve coordination, ensure data accuracy, and promote the sustainability of DHIS2 across all levels of the health system.
