Self-care is about two dimensions, i.e. "physical" and "mental". Each one of us seek most of the time to do something to maintain our physical health but only a handful people know about mental health. It's not about being a patient or insane instead it includes how a healthy mind deals with incoming stress and how much resilient it is. Self-care can be initiated by noting some important points which are as follow:
-do self-reflection
-give yourself time and space
-identify your emotions instead of avoiding them
- do any mind relaxing activity
-be positive with others
-eat healthy
-keep your body engage in any activity or do some exercise to keep your body fit
-appreciate anybody in your life, at least one person per day
-be kind and care about people around you
-be grateful for what you have

Anxiety is such a condition in which a person is oversensitive to the situation. He/she does have catastrophizing thoughts. They are used to predict early bad outcomes (negative filter) and try to avoid negative circumstances. This enhance their symptoms.

This issue can be resolved by talking help from a mental health professional.
