India's attempt to link coronavirus to Muslims and Pakistan has 'failed badly' : DG ISPR

Rawalpindi (Zahid Khan)
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar on Friday said that India's attempt to "link coronavirus with Muslims and Pakistanis has failed badly".
Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi, the DG ISPR said: "At a time when the the entire world is battling the coronavirus pandemic, extremists in India have proved that the country is promoting Hindutva and saffron terrorism".He added that the Indian army's leadership used the country's media to unsuccessfully propagate a "false" narrative.Recently, Indian army chief General MM Naravane had alleged that Pakistan was "exporting terror" during the coronavirus crisis while India was helping others and its own people.
“It is very unfortunate that at a time when the whole world and India is fighting the menace of this pandemic, our neighbour continues to foment trouble for us,” The Hindustan Times had quoted Navarane as saying.
Addressing those remarks, DG ISPR said that the allegations were a "reflection of India's internal failures and increasing frustrations and demoralisations". He added that the "fire of oppression, hatred and race that India had lit in Kashmir" has now spread to the rest of the country.
"The saffronisation of the Indian military and polity is a sad spectre and ill-suited during the current circumstances.
"The reality of the fake news that India tried to spread regarding Azad Kashmir is now in front of the world," he said, adding that the least number of coronavirus cases across the country were in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and no deaths have been reported so far. Whenever India has faced internal problems, it has blamed Pakistan. The current allegations are also based on the same [tactic], to divert internal and international attention from situations arising out if its own policy blunders," he said, adding that under India's current internal conditions, "no country needed to infiltrate India".
Maj Gen Iftikhar said that all resources of the Pakistan Army were being used to combat the pandemic. "All army resources are being used at all levels to combat this pandemic. Resource allocation is also being altered according to conditions.
"A smart lockdown, and testing, tracing and quarantining will drive our efforts against Covid-19. We will have a targeted lockdown only for virus hotspots and clusters. He added that the army will extend help in this regard. Thanking medics and all those people working to keep the economy going, he urged people to keep themselves restricted and protect themselves from the pandemic. "Next 15 days are crucial. Make your homes your places of worship. He also shared that all medical staff from the army's medical core had been summoned to help with relief efforts while the army's five testing laboratories were working to supplement the National Institute of Health's testing capacity.
He also said that the army decided not to take internal security allowances so the money could instead be used to help with efforts to combat the pandemic. "The air force has operated flights to bring relief supplies from China and the navy is distributing ration to people living in Sindh and Balochistan's coastal areas."

Whether small object or big plane, Pakistan will shoot down Indian Quadcopter, Airspace violation in sankh sector along LOC.

Islamabad (Zahid Khan)
Indian Quadcopter Airspace Violation in Sankh Sector along LOC today. In this provocative act, Indian quadcopter intruded 600 meters inside Pakistan’s territory for conducting surveillance. This blatant act was aggressively responded to by Pakistan Army troops shooting down Indian quadcopter . Such unwarranted acts by Indian Army are clear violation of established norms, existing Air Agreement between two countries and reflect Indian Army’s consistent disregard to Ceasefire Understanding of 2003.

Iran Embassy sending Objection letter to Geo News Television islamabad.

Islamabad (Mahmood Khan)
Dear Director of Geo News Television Channel
The content broadcasted on Geo News television about the spread of coronavirus in Iran in the program "With Shahzib Khanzadeh" dated 26 March 2020 quoted by one of the western TV Channel which is hostile to the Islamic Republic of Iran (BBC) has made false, defamatory and baseless allegations against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Embassy, while presenting its compliments to this television channel, strongly denies the allegations and points out that broadcasting of such a false and negative content is not in harmony with the good relations between the two countries. In addition, broadcasting of such a misrepresenting, discrediting, and politically-orientated content against a neighboring country diverts the public opinion from the truth, would result in mistrust among the viewers and disturbs public opinion.
Raising charges of secrecy against Iranian Government is part of destructive programs of the TV Channels which are hostile to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and unfortunately some Pakistani media have copied and disseminated it without investigating the subject matter and purpose of the source channels. This manner contradicts the principles of professional journalism. Also, that honorable media is expected to avoid publishing materials that would undermine the atmosphere of trust between the two peoples.
Since the outbreak in China, at the behest of the Honorable Minister of Health on 2020 January 21, a Corona Control Center has been established in the Ministry of Health with 12 sub-committees that monitor interdepartmental activities. On this basis, regular meetings are held daily at the Iranian Ministry of Health and the latest status of the issue is reported publicly at a specific time of day (13:00 hours).
Given the importance of informing and recording detailed statistics on the process of identification, treatment and public awareness, this action is carried out rapidly and accurately in Iran, in cooperation with the World Health Organization. In addition, measures to control the outbreaks across the country have been part of the Iranian National Action Plan since the early days, with the closure of public places such as mosques, holy shrines, schools and training centers, sports clubs, Friday prayers, and so on.Despite the fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran was on the verge of holding a crucial parliamentary election, the Iranian government notified the media and the general public as soon as it identified the first case of the virus because public health and compliance with International Health Regulations (IHR), which guarantees international health security, is a top priority for us. Adopting such a policy protects Iran and other countries from the consequences of lack of timely information and political misuse from the issue.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, announces detailed statistics of new virus infections on a regular daily basis. According to the organization, Iran has the capability and equipment to diagnose, control and treat the corona virus disease. Iran is ready to share its experiences with its brotherly and neighbouring nation, Pakistan. Free media can help their society and the world pass this critical time of pandemic outbreak by receiving and disseminating the strategies and experiences of other countries in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of the disease, but the dissemination of false news and negative propaganda, not only provide any help to contain and control the virus, but by diverting public opinion from reality, it will provide the space for opportunism and abuse by the enemies of both nations.
In addition, the program aired on Geo News raises false and defamatory accusations against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. His Excellency is not only a high-ranking political figure in Iran, but also a spiritual leader and a highly respected religious authority (Marja’) who has many followers and imitators around the world, especially in Pakistan. Since the outbreak of this dangerous virus, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as the sympathetic father of Ummat has repeatedly instructed the nation to pay attention to safety measures, including avoiding unnecessary travel and full compliance with expert health advice. His Excellency sympathizes with the people in this disaster and illness. Such false accusations are not only completely unjust and unfair, but also are considered complicity with the enemies of Islam and Muslims. These enemies seek to strike at the supreme authorities of Islam and prevent the unity and cohesion of Muslims. Spreading false news and accusing this great authority of Shiites in the Muslim country of Pakistan will certainly arouse the religious sentiments of millions of His Excellency’s followers and disciples and negatively affect the viewers of that TV channel.
The Embassy, while reiterating its complements for the media, recalls that the publication of such rumors and biased content is in contrast with the good neighborliness, good relations and growing cooperation between the two friendly countries, Iran and Pakistan, and has a negative impact on public opinion. The outbreak of the coronavirus is a humanitarian and transboundary crisis and its control needs to inform the public correctly. Therefore, that esteemed and professional television channel is called upon to avoid politicizing a humanitarian issue that concerns human lives. Rather than referring to biased sources that pursue their political goals and desires in the midst of a humanitarian crisis; it is requested to follow the news, statistics and information on the spread of the virus exclusively from official, independent and reliable sources such as the World Health Organization, and refrain from spreading untrue rumors and news that may disturb and public opinion and divert the people from the realities. That would be appreciated if the above-mentioned reply gets broadcasted in the Geo News channel, under the law of the press.
