Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation (MERF) was incorporated on 2nd day of November 2015, as a company limited by guarantee under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. The main objective of the Company is to improve health status of population by human resource development through capacity building and strengthening the health system including effective management of health information system and efficient supply chain system for better health outcomes. مریض آنکھ کے شدید کے زخم اور پگھلاؤ کے ساتھ ہسپتال آیا تھا۔ تفصیلی معائنے کے بعد متاثرہ آنکھ کو ناقابلِ علاج قرار دیا گیا اور جراحی کے ذریعے آنکھ نکال کر مصنوعی آنکھ لگائی گئی۔
یہ اہم اور حساس سرجری مرف کے ماہرِامراض چشم ڈاکٹر نور حسن نے کامیابی سے کی۔ مریض اب بہتر حالت میں ہے اور صحت یاب ہو رہا ہے۔

پاکستان میں خسرہ اور روبیلا سے بچاؤ کی قومی مہم 17 سے 29 نومبر 2025 تک چلائی جا رہی ہے۔

💉 اس مہم کے دوران 6 ماہ سے 5 سال تک کی عمر کے تمام بچوں کو خسرہ اور روبیلا سے بچاؤ کی ویکسین مکمل طور پر مفت فراہم کی جا رہی ہے۔
💧اس مہم کے دوران مخصوص اضلاع میں پولیو کے قطرے بھی پلائے جائیں گے۔ لہٰذا اپنی قومی ذمہ داری نبھاتے ہوئے اس بات کو یقینی بنائیں کہ پیدائش سے پانچ سال تک کے تمام بچے پولیو کے دو قطرے ضرور پیئیں۔
اس قومی مہم میں مرف ملک بھر میں اپنے پارٹنرز، ڈونرز اور متعلقہ اداروں کے ساتھ قریبی تعاون میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہی ہے۔

Together, we’re protecting the future of our girls
MERF-Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation with support from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and in partnership with EPI AJK and its implementing partners Aiming Change for Tomorrow - ACT and Community Services Program - CSP, proudly commemorates the progress made in safeguarding adolescent girls (ages 9–14) from cervical cancer across the seven districts of AJK i.e. Poonch, Neelum, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Mirpur, Bhimber, and Jhelum.
Through a community-driven HPV vaccination campaign, MERF and its partners reached 190,244 individuals with awareness activities, including 31,538 girls in schools and 31,107 community members across AJK; 6,303 caregivers were sensitized and 111,989 individuals reached through Friday sermons, moreover 6,184 participants were engaged in awareness walks.
To further strengthen communication efforts, 337 journalists were oriented and 226 volunteers trained. Digital outreach extended the message to 1,243,075 people, supported by the distribution of 67,000 IEC materials. In total, 8,314 sessions were conducted to promote HPV vaccination.
Today, on World Cervical Cancer Elimination Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building a future where every girl is safe, informed, and vaccinated. Together, we can eliminate cervical cancer.

Observed every year on November 10, World Immunization Day highlights the lifesaving power of vaccines and the importance of equitable access for all. Through the generous support of its donors, partners, and stakeholders—especially the EPI departments— MERF-Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation continues to strengthen immunization services across Pakistan. From raising awareness through Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) campaigns to engaging communities and ensuring quality services at health facilities and outreach sites, MERF works to protect children, women, and adolescents from vaccine-preventable diseases, including through the introduction of the HPV vaccine for girls’ health and well-being.

(ٹھٹھہ) ڈی ایچ آئی ایس پاکستان میں صحت سے متعلق اعداد و شمار کے مجموعی نظام کو بہتر بنانے کا ایک جامع منصوبہ ہے، جبکہ ڈی ایچ آئی ایس۔2 اس کا جدید اورآٹومیٹڈ ورژن ہے جو بہتر ڈیٹا رپورٹنگ، تجزیہ اور پالیسی سازی میں مدد فراہم کرے گا۔

ڈاکٹر شاہ میران - چیف ایگزیکٹیو آفیسر میڈیکل ایمرجنسی ریزیلینس فاؤنڈیشن (MERF) نے اپنے سندھ کے وزٹ کے دوران مرف کے زیر انتظام سول اسپتال ٹھٹھہ میں خود تربیتی سیشنز کا جائزہ لیا، عملے سے ملاقات کی اور صحت کے معیار کو بہتر بنانے کے طریقوں پر تبادلہ خیال کیا اور شرکاء سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ MERF صحت کے نظام میں معیاری رپورٹنگ اور مؤثر ڈیٹا جنریشن کے فروغ کے لیے اپنے تعاون کو مزید مضبوط بنائے گا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ درست اور بروقت ڈیٹا ہی پالیسی سازوں کے لیے بہتر فیصلوں کی بنیاد بنتا ہے، اور اس سلسلے میں MERF ہر ممکن معاونت فراہم کرتا رہے گا۔

👨‍⚕️جنرل او پی ڈی محکمہ صحت کے ماہر ڈاکٹروں اور پیرا میڈیک سٹاف نے بھرپور طریقے سے سرانجام دی ، جہاں سینکڑوں مریضوں خصوصاً خواتین اور بچوں کا مفت معائنہ اور ادویات فراہم کی گئیں۔

In response to Pakistan’s recurring humanitarian challenges such as floods, droughts, and displacement crises, Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation (MERF), in collaboration with International Rescue Committee (IRC), organized a comprehensive Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) training in Karachi under the EU-funded SIGN Project. European Union in Pakistan
The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of government departments, implementing partners, and civil society organizations to effectively plan, coordinate, and deliver nutrition interventions during emergencies.

Participants included representatives from the Directorate General Health Services (DGHS), Department of Health (DoH), PPHI Sindh, national and international NGOs, and CSOs—ensuring a multi-sectoral approach to emergency nutrition readiness.
Technical facilitation was provided by DevRes Consultants (Mr. Shahid Fazal, Dr. Naveed Bhutto, Dr. Paras Sultan, and Dr. Saba Shahid), using a globally aligned NiE training package
Key modules covered coordination mechanisms, target estimation, supply chain management, community engagement, and information systems.
Key outcomes included:
• Strengthened coordination among government and humanitarian actors
• Improved capacity for emergency nutrition planning and therapeutic food estimation
• Enhanced awareness on community referral and data-driven decision-making

Dr. Aurangzeib, MERF’s Sr. Emergency Response Coordinator, also gave presentation on NiE through interactive session and practical exercises, participants enhanced their understanding of coordination, planning, and response mechanisms for nutrition in emergencies.
Participants recommended institutionalizing NiE training at provincial and district levels, developing a provincial preparedness plan, conducting regular simulations, and ensuring pre-positioning of therapeutic stocks in high-risk areas.
This initiative reflects MERF’s continued commitment under the EU-SIGN Project to enhance resilience, preparedness, and coordinated response in nutrition emergencies—ensuring timely and effective support for vulnerable populations across Sindh.

Under the Climate-Smart Livelihoods for Vulnerable Communities Project (July–December 2025), implemented by the Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation (MERF) with financial support from Scatec Pvt. Ltd. and its energy partners, and in close coordination with the Agriculture Extension Department, Sukkur, a two-day training on Kitchen Gardening for women farmers was organized at Village Abdul Rehman Bhambhro, UC Tarai, Saleh Pat, Sukkur.

The training was delivered by the Deputy Director Agriculture, Saleh Pat, along with the MERF field team. A total of 110 leading female farmers participated and were trained on:

🌱Importance and benefits of kitchen gardening
🏕️Selection and preparation of land
𓇢 Quality seed selection and sowing methods
🌿 W**d management and identification of beneficial insects
𓆤 Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
♻️Judicious fertilizer use and preparation of farmyard manure
💦 Efficient water utilization and agroforestry

Gender inclusion in agriculture and livelihood diversification through integrated livestock, poultry, and value-added products such as handicrafts

The sessions were interactive and participatory, helping participants establish linkages with the Agriculture Department and access ongoing technical support.

At the conclusion of the training, all participants received toolkits and seasonal vegetable seeds to practically apply their learning and start home-based vegetable production.

Kitchen gardening not only ensures access to fresh, organic, pesticide-free vegetables, but also contributes to household food security, income generation, and overall well-being by reducing expenses and promoting healthy eating.

Participants expressed deep appreciation for this initiative led by MERF-Medical Emergency Resilience Foundation and , recognizing it as a valuable step toward climate-smart, sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment in rural Sindh. 🌱

گورنمنٹ جنرل اسپتال ، نشترآباد ، پشاور میں بریسٹ کینسر اسکریننگ کی مفت سہولت بھی فراہم کی جاتی ہے-
اس کے ساتھ ساتھ صفوت غیور چلڈرن اسپتال ، پشاور میں بھی اسکریننگ کیمپ لگایا گیا -

اس سال کا تھیم: ہر کہانی منفرد ہے، ہر سفر اہم ہے

اس اکتوبر، MERF خواتین، خاندانوں اور کمیونٹیز کے ساتھ بریسٹ کینسر کے خلاف جدوجہد میں یکجہتی کا اظہار کرتا ہے۔

ہر سال ہزاروں خواتین بریسٹ کینسر کے باعث اپنی جانیں گنوا دیتی ہیں — اس لیے نہیں کہ یہ بیماری قابلِ علاج نہیں، بلکہ اس لیے کہ بروقت تشخیص نہیں ہو پاتی۔ اس اکتوبر، MERF اس حقیقت کو بدلنے کے لیے پرعزم ہے!

پاکستان کے منتخب صوبوں بشمول آزاد جموں و کشمیر میں HPV ویکسین مہم کے دوران والدین، اساتذہ، علما اور کمیونٹی کے تعاون پر شکر گزار ہیں۔ اس مہم کا مقصد ہماری بیٹیوں کو سرویکل کینسر جیسے جان لیوا مرض سے محفوظ رکھنا ہے۔

ملک بھر بشمول آزاد جموں کشمیر میں سرویکل کینسر کے خاتمے کے لئے ہماری پرعزم ٹیمیں خصوصی تعریف کی مستحق ہیں -
