Protecting children in digital spaces requires more than awareness. It requires systems that respond.

Under the project funded by the European Union in Pakistan🇪🇺, supports the National Commission on the Rights of Child - NCRC Pakistan in raising awareness about online safety and the risks of grooming and trafficking.

Online exploitation often begins with seemingly harmless interactions before escalating into requests for secrecy and control. Addressing this requires coordinated action across institutions, communities, and families to ensure that risks are identified early and acted upon effectively.

Know the signs. Act early.

Women’s leadership in diplomacy and development shapes decisions, inspires change, and opens doors for the next generation. Tune into this conversation with Van Nguyen, Deputy Resident Representative , and other trailblazing leaders: https://youtu.be/X0KtLaL1aoE

The month of March reminds us that conversations about women's leadership are an opportunity to reflect on how institutions evolve, how representation shapes decision-making, and how women continue to influence diplomacy, governance, and global cooperation.

This webinar "Only Woman in the Room" was organized by The Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS) and The Diplomatic Insight. It captures something that statistics alone cannot measure: the lived experience of being the sole female voice at a negotiating table, in a cabinet chamber, or inside a diplomatic mission.

In light of this, we had an extraordinary panel. These women represent the front lines of development, traditional diplomacy, humanitarian action, and professional protocol.

Our panellists included:

Ms. Van Nguyen: Deputy Resident Representative, UNDP Pakistan.
Ms. Naela Chohan: Former Ambassador of Pakistan
Ms. Pernille Ironside: UNICEF
Representative in Pakistan
Ms. Catalina Bora: Founder of the Institute of Etiquette and Protocol
Dr. Nikoletta Hosso: President of the Organization of International Protocol Professionals

When floods swept through Buner, they disrupted lives and livelihoods.

For 80-year-old Pelosa Bibi, it meant losing the kitchen she had built her life around. Today, with access to a fuel-efficient stove, she is able to cook safely again, restoring a sense of normalcy and dignity.

Across Buner, recovery is taking shape with UNDP’s support — homes rebuilt, livelihoods revived, services restored.

As Pakistan’s digital landscape expands, addressing online harm has become increasingly urgent.

To respond to this challenge, UNDP Pakistan and the Ministry of Human Rights have developed Pakistan’s first National Strategy to Counter Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence. The strategy provides a coordinated framework to strengthen prevention, survivor protection, and institutional response to online abuse.

This milestone reflects UNDP's commitment to ensuring that Pakistan’s digital future is inclusive, safe, and rights-based for women and girls.
