This phase consolidated the earlier gains appetite normalized, weight increased by six pounds, pain resolved, bowel regularity returned, and energy improved. Sleep became intermittent mainly due to nocturia rather than disease-related discomfort.

Remedy Justification:

Post-Traumatic Hypertension Restored to Normal

Patient Summary:
A female patient developed persistent hypertension following trauma and orthopedic surgery. Before the injury, her blood pressure was consistently low (~98/64 mmHg). After the fall on June 18th, it remained elevated (~143/100 mmHg) and unresponsive to initial self-prescribed remedies.

Patient has message me with these words:

“Dr. Ikram Manzoor, please help. What would you try for hypertension after injury that won’t go down now? It spiked the day of the fall. No BP issues before. Injury happened June 18th.

My Comments on this Case:

Rationale:

Rationale:

Patient’s Summary:
A 9-year-old boy diagnosed with Stargardt disease, a rare hereditary retinal degeneration causing progressive central vision loss, was brought for homeopathic treatment. In September 1928 Alexander Fleming returned from holiday to a curious sight. He saw that bacteria he had been growing on a culture plate had been killed in an area close to where a mould was accidentally growing.

It was to be a monumental discovery – Alexander Fleming had just discovered penicillin. He isolated the mould and showed that it released a substance that inhibited bacterial growth. He named the substance penicillin after the name of the mould.

Fleming reported his ground-breaking results in the scientific paper 'On the antibacterial action of cultures of a Penicillium with special reference to their use in the isolation of B. influenzae', published in British Journal of Experimental Pathology in 1929.

He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945.

It was long thought that stress was the main cause of gastric ulcers. But Barry Marshall had a different theory. He suspected ulcers were caused by a bacterium, Helicobacter pylori, that a colleague Robin Warren had discovered in gastric ulcer patients. However he was unable to prove it and his theory was met with resistance.

Facing such opposition, Marshall decided to experiment on himself. After drinking Helicobacter pylori in a broth solution he contracted a serious infection. This proved his theory correct and in 2005 he was awarded the Nobel Prize.

Marshall's exploits have been documented in this comic, the Ulcer Tales, a few pages of which he donated to the Nobel Prize Museum. This page shows Neil Noakes saying “Dr Marshall you’re crazy” and Marshall replying “There is no other way.”
