SAMEER ALI,
BATCH 2021.

"When you show courage in the face of adversity, you change your life and others"

First of all I want to thanks Almighty Allah then my parents, my teachers, mentors and my friends who all support me while I was striving to obtain my Pharm-D degree.

So, I remember when I was entering my first day of university, I was extremely excited but at the same time extremely nervous. Reflecting back on the whole experience now, I would encourage incoming students to recognize that like anything in life, you'll face both ups and downs throughout your university experience. The important thing to remember is to always try your best with your full potential.

Overall I am a good active student in my university life. I actively take participation in extracurriculum activities and mostly the research based seminars, poster presentation of both inter and intra university competitions as a result of that I successfully published my full research paper in Latin American Journal Of Pharmacy, Hamdard medicus and JDUHS, in my 4th and 5th year of Pharm-D.

Now if I come to my job, Alhamdulillah Currently I am working as a Business Development Professional in B.D & Medical Affairs Department in BOSCH PHARMACEUTICAL PVT LTD.

In the last remember, the only way you can fail is if you give up. Every time you fail, you come one step closer to success. Boldly go in the direction of your dreams.

Stand tall and show the world what you are made of. When the world beats you down, find a reason to get back up again.

Go for your dreams; it is your turn.👍👍___________________________________________________________________________
SAMEER, We are proud of your unwavering attitude and dedication to your profession. All the best for your bright future.

ROMAISA KHAN,
BATCH 2021.

THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS. 💟

Sometimes all it takes is a little inspiration and wisdom to find the motivation in your life and this quote has always been my motivation. ✨

Hey everyone! It's me Romaisa khan. Today I'm going to tell you about my journey of "Doctor of Pharmacy".

Like every other medical student, I too dreamed of becoming a doctor but my dreams were shattered when I didn't get admission in MBBS. Then I got admission in JSMU-IPS back in 2015. A newbie entering in the university with no idea what this place had for her. Going to university and prepping for the "real world" is not easy. Dealing with grades, pressure and having to answer the big question: "What should I do with my life?", means there are a lot of expectations on your plate.

Well My first reaction was like " YAAR YEH MAI KAHAAN AGYEE HUN MENE TOU MBBS KARNAA THA.😂 At first I didn't understand anything, I found it very difficult to study pharmacy because I HATE HATEEE CHEMISTRY Lol. But after sometime the fog started to clear from my eyes then my interest in this field started to develop. PHIR WOH KEHTE HENA JO HOTA HAI ACHAY KAY LIYE HOTA HAI SAHEE KEHTE HEN.🤭 then I accepted this as my destiny.

The thing I love about university life is that it has made me more independent. I used to teach students since I was in first year of university to bear my expenses. I used to come back home from university at 4 O'clock and teach students from 5 O'clock to 9 O'clock. This was my daily routine which became more hectic during exam days it wasn't easy and was the toughest phase of my life but I managed it well. Along with studies, I made some real and true friends at university. I was the back bencher 😂 and literally while sitting at the back I didn't realize that I was making the best memories of my life with my friends. They made my university life bearable 😁♥️ from getting up early, catching the point from stop, attending the lectures and labs together, laughing together, teasing others, celebrating every moment of life together, to cry together on each others shoulder during the hard times, those five years have flown by so fast. 🦋

BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!♥️
I always wondered if I would be able to get a job after graduation because I always wanted to work in regulatory affairs department of the pharmaceutical industry and my Allah has answered my prayers in a beautiful way.♥️

Currently I am working as a Senior Officer Regulatory Affairs at GETZ PHARMA (Pakistan's number one company) Alhumdulillah, Alhumdulillah. ♥️

I'm greatful for what I've become , and what I've learnt! ✨

My message to all my juniors:
"Work hard in silence, let the success make the noise" 🦋✨

Well wrapping up with this Iqbal ka shair ✅
"Khudi ko kar buland itnaa ky har taqdeer sy pehly khuda banday sy khud puchay bata teri raza kyaa hai" ✨

ANMOL ALI,
BATCH 2021.

"It doesn't matter how slowly you go as long as you don't stop and one day you'll thank yourself for not giving up."

I thought it was weird when I was being asked for my story because it isn't something full of big achievements and outstanding academic performance but sometimes ordinary can be inspiring too.

Going for Pharm-D was never in my plan I always kept my 2nd option doing something in psychology but as we all know destiny has its own plan so in 2015 after not being selected for mbbs on merit I got admitted in IPS.

My academic life has always been a huge rollercoaster as I was facing major health disasters since childhood from being treated for Major intestinal tuberculosis to operated for genu valgum (knock knees) I started skipping my classes from secondary level and used to give exams without attending classes by just sitting at principal's office and that made me a complete introvert who was too afraid to even speak Infront of people and all this didn't stop even in university years so many times I wasn't able to get out of bed during exams which made me listen that I should quit my studies. But Alhamdulillah I was blessed with the best people in university I still remember before my community exam I was too sick to even open the books and my best friend taught me everything through voice notes and I actually cleared that subject and not just once I gave so many papers like this by just listening to her voice notes.

Academically I was going average but satisfied besides that I continued my internships in multiple hospitals and did some clinical courses from akuh and nibd. Then in 4th year I was selected as a Head of Welfare Society in IPS tho I'm working as a community servant from last 8 years at SIUT but working as a head was itself a big challenge for my introvert soul and along with that my friend who was a member of national cabinet pushed me to organize a collaborated event of NC x IPS which was gonna be first MUN of IPS and perform the duties of a president those were the toughest days from convincing admin for an event just a month before semester exams to gathering participants and answering every query of them but I had the best team and Juniors besides me who supported me every second and finally the girl who used to ruin her presentation because of stage phobia pulled an event as a president which turned out to be one of the most memorable and successful experience even for the participants as well.

I always had the mindset that for a good job GPA matters and being someone with average gpa I was scared of rejection. After struggle of whole 4-5 months I got an opportunity by Highnoon Pharma as their CS Pharmacist for their respiratory campaign SAANS in which I had to counsel patients for their respiratory disease where I was told that I'm quite an extrovert which is gonna be a plus point for them and this was something which I never expected but all it's all because of my best friend who actually used to prepare me even for my interviews.❤️

After serving 9 months there, now I'm working in SOUTH CITY HOSPITAL as INPATIENT PHARMACIST where I'm gaining experience of every kind of clinical cases from General wards to MICU, Hands on TPNS, CHEMOS & Sterile Preparations and ER Protocols as well.

These 5 years journey was the most amazing days of life (definitely not the exams period) from being extremely introvert to tagged as extrovert. Here I met my homies and enjoyed every second with them got to know some amazing juniors who supported and motivated me to give my best ending this long story with a really short message that don't quit and never give up trying to build the world you see for yourself. Listen to your drum and your drum only, because only this sound will keep you strong enough to pass all the hurdles.

RAMNA IQBAL,
BATCH 2021.

Hello everyone, its Ramna. Here to talk about my journey of five years that was filled with many different experiences that helped me become the person I am today and to achieve the career I am working harder everyday for.

So, I actually have the common background story as many of us have here, haha. That is, wishing to get admission in MBBS but having to go for the reserved choice in the end.

But, as it is said, everything happens for a reason and Allah has a set plan that is the most beneficial for us, so I believe that this career path I and all of us ended up choosing had always been the best one for us.

From the very start I wanted to choose a career that would help me connect with people and help them, and Alhamdulillah Pharm-D has proven to be the perfect career path for that wish to come true.

I had never thought about applying for JSMU really, it was a last minute decision, but still now we're here. And all the good memories and experiences I gained from my university life far outweigh everything else.

From those canteen break chitchats to sitting in corridors and last minute crammings before exams and practicals, to the impressive teamwork of completing our journals 😂 and running to classes and ofcourse all the valuable advice and lessons given by our esteemed teachers between lessons. I will always hold them all close to heart!

The first and second year were a bit troublesome, still struggling to adjust with studying a different major than the one initially planned but Alhamdulillah I met good friends who made university life more fun and had very helpful classmates.

The other three years really went by so fast, the last year pretty much ruined by covid but still this journey of ups and downs ended on a good note!

Now, everyone might know me as the girl who was a bit studious 😂. But Alhamdulillah I always genuinely enjoyed studying in university days and never had to struggle with my grades.

After graduating though, I lost hope for a while of getting a good job and was confused which career path to choose, but let me tell you juniors! Never lose hope. This time period from after graduation until securing a good job might seem tough and to be honest a bit depressing, but please believe in Allah and don't lose hope.

Alhamdullilah, by the grace of Allah, after a short period of searching I got a job offer as a Trainee Pharmacist in the emergency department of National Institute of Child Health, where I am gaining valuable experience of every imaginable paediatric clinical cases, hands on sterile dilution experience, ER protocols as well as helping me sharpen my reflexes in fast paced emergency environment.

So in the end, I want to conclude by saying that I am very happy with where I am in my life and will continue working harder with the grace of Allah and prayer of my parents by my side. I wish you all happiness and success in your futures!

Always work hard and never lose sight of your goals, inshaAllah you will achieve everything!

RAMNA, your journey of job search is a ray of hope for so many fresh graduates out there. All the very best for your bright future!

HAMZA FAHEEM,
BATCH 2021.

All praise to the Almighty Allah for giving me this chance to come up in front of you all and express my thoughts about my journey of "DOCTOR OF PHARMACY". So, first of all I would like to thank all my friends, my seniors, my juniors, my teachers and mentors with whom these 5 years flew by like nothing. As everyone knows to achieve something 'pehla qadam shart hai' and that was my motto since the first day and due to this thinking the voyage to graduation was a straight road (with some major U turns and breakdowns too btw).
I actively organized many events and took part in numerous extra curricular activities in university with the president sahab of our student federation, Owais bhai, Safa baji, Saad bhai and many more friends, seniors and juniors which was a wonderful experience for me. The enjoyment in class, those atrium trips with my boys, what a life it was 💜.
I thought i would never ever in my life miss the university life but I was wrong, these days are the golden days of every students life, and if ever given a chance again to relive them I'll happily choose to do it over again.
Currently I am working as Quality assurance officer for ATCO laboratories. I'll like to wrap things up with a message that "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present." So, stop worrying about the future and enjoy the present, what is written in your fate will happen definitely. So stay positive, think positive, do positive.

HAMZA, All the best for a bright future! May your magical charisma get you loads and loads of success.

ASMA KULSOOM,
BATCH 2021.

A journey that started in 2015 and I just can’t believe how the five years have flown by. I feel myself lucky to be a part of such a prestigious institute that has worked as a building block for my career. Most people believe that girls should not be perusing medical career as in most cases they leave their studies somewhere in middle, depriving some other deserving candidate of the seat however I feel myself lucky that despite having to get married some halfway in my education I still got enough support of my family & friends to persue my dreams & complete my education.
At the start of my professional education, I met some amazing people & beautiful friends who made this journey a lot more fun and exciting. First two years were plain and simple. Things got little difficult for me after my marriage at the end of 5th semester. But with the constant support of my PARENTS, HUSBAND and FRIENDS, my studies bacame manageable. From lunch plans to attending the seminars and taking part in different researches, days went by and then came final year along with COVID -19 and beginning of quarantine and online education and all the fun things planned for last year went down the drain and we spent last year just imagining it. The last semester was really difficult for me because of my pregnancy. I barely got out of exams and after 1 week welcomed my little bundle of joy, my son who is still keeping me busy. Despite all this, I managed to secure 3.43 Cgpa.
It was not a simple journey as I look back, I realize that it was one of the most important chapter of my life where I learnt new things, met new people and experienced new things.
I always believed that I can do anything if I put my mind to it and I despite all the ups and down, I am finally a pharmacist and I plan to advance further in this field.

MASHAL ZEHRA
BATCH 2019.

Having dreams is not an issue, but believing every dream and wish of yours would come true that's an issue.
At times what we wish for is not exactly what we deserve. Trust Allah he's the best planner of all.

Hey, It's me Mashal a not so random girl :p
No, I dont have that mostly patent story like others, having to wish for mbbs but landed in Pharm-D.
No... Since intermediate I always wished either to go for something in chemistry or Pharm-D.
Alhamdulilah I got into JSMU yes KU was always my dream university but yea JSMU is not that bad too.. JSMU has given a roller coster ride of experinces to me.. from being the one who loved enjoying and working from the back to be the marketing head all thanks to our very well known Sir Zaad Hashmi and Sir Ahad Memon to seeing people changing colours like true chamilion to having the closest friends of all time.
From being the straight 4 gpa girl to ending up having an above average gpa.
Yes.. life and time teaches you alot..
Even thought we faced alot of issues being the pioneers which every starting batches do face after all we are the bench mark for the university.
I always wanted to go into some hifi industry in a RnD department but then as the time passed by my interest grew into marketing field it was one of the subject in which I would score all good grades without even studying a bit but Almighty had planned something else..
There was a time when I lost all hope because yes I wasn't getting it in any industry 🤣🤣 but Alhamdulilah here I am selected at Indus hospital Training program.. I was the only one selected from Karachi which was a highly proud moment for me and my family and that's not even the end by the Grace of Allah and thanks to our teachers who made our understanding so clear about everything and of course my mehnat last but not the least my manager Sir Arif Ali Arain I got appointed directly on the post of Clinical Rotation Pharmacist having fixed duty hours along with awesome other benefit and a continuous non stop learning process from exploring new horizons each passing day to challenging myself to my limits . Indeed I'm blessed with the best.

Apart from all this I've currently started working jointly with my brother towards our passion starting our own YouTube channel and consultation which mainly focuses towards customized Gamming PC building here is the link , do show some support!
https://youtube.com/watch?v=cRkH1ar4PeA&feature=share

Many more ideas are in the row including a under construction pharmacy help guide website which would help us all in exploring our field in many ways.

To top it all I'd like to conclude it with just a single statement. DO YOUR BEST AND LEAVE THE REST TO ALLAH, YOU'LL BE AMAZED THE WAY HE SETS EVERY PATH FOR YOU.

Oh and btw one thing more;
So what if I didn't get into KU, we went there and won the competition and brought back the shields 😂 and that was seriously a honour for us and specially for me standing in my dream university competing with universities all around Karachi and winning the All Karachi Pharmacy Quiz Competition was one of the happiest day of my life.

P.s: I know it's hard, at times you'll break and just wish to quit everything but always remember "It’s OK if you fall down and lose your spark. Just make sure that when you get back up, you rise as the whole damn fire. — Colette Werden

Best of luck juniors! :)
