Important tricky note about "Foot Adduction & Abduction" :

Many may mistake hip internal/external rotation or knee internal/external rotation (which is possible only when the knee is flexed) for foot adduction and abduction!

To clear up this misunderstanding, let's first explain what's
Foot Adduction & Abduction is?
It is the movement of the foot towards(adduction) or away from(abduction) the midline of the body in the transverse(axial) plane around the vertical axis, taking place at the subtalar(talocalcaneal) and the midtarsal=Chopart's(talonavicular & calcaneocuboid) joints of foot.

This is totally different when the foot is taken unintentionally into internal/external rotation due to such movement occurring at a more proximal knee or hip joint.

Still confused? let's try this now;
-Stand up & align your foot in neutral position with the whole limb. Then, rotate the hip internally and externally (image A). Now, while still standing, don't let any movement occur above the ankle and move just the foot into adduction and abduction.
-Again, flex your knee to be able to rotate it internally and externally (image 😎. Now, don't let any movment occur above the ankle and move just the foot into adduction and abduction.
