I have felt this often, in meditation, in Zikr, my heart tugging, pulling me toward a presence I somehow knew before my mind did.
At times it felt overwhelming, as if my heart could hardly contain it - a feeling of awe that was humbling, crumbling, and yet deeply exhilarating.
These experiences led me to study the heart more deeply on the Sufi path, to understand the significance it holds in our spiritual tradition. Without the heart, who are we really?
The more I explored these teachings, the more I was struck by the honor given to the human heart - the sacred trust we carry within us.
We often see ourselves through our struggles, doubts, and limitations. Yet the Qur’an reminds us that something immense was entrusted to the human being.
It changed how I began to see human existence - as a gift and a responsibility renewed with every breath we take, where we are always turning either toward God or away from Him.
Teachings on the heart are central to the Sufi path, and they continue to guide how I share and practice them today.
I would love to know if, and how, this resonates with you. I hope this reflection offers something to your own journey with the heart.
With love,
Tehmina
