I have always been in awe of Sufi commentary on Surah al-Fātiḥah. When I first read it, it completely changed how I relate to it.
It helped me realise that the reason we are sent here goes far deeper than simply following and ticking rituals. It is about getting to know God. It is about being given the privilege to address Him, to speak to Him - and sometimes, in our fear of God, we forget that.
Through this understanding, and over time, I felt that I could love Allah more easily - more effortlessly. It almost felt as though a portal had opened… just as the Surah itself says - an Opening.
Last week during Taraweeh, I felt deeply called to write this down.
Today, I want to share it in the hope that it opens something for you too - whether you feel stuck, whether you are struggling, or whether you are simply longing for a deeper connection with the Divine.
May this bring your heart solace and remind you that you are never far from Him. Ameen.
I would truly love to know, what resonated with you the most while reading this?
With love,
Tehmina
