Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS):

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is pressure on a nerve in your wrist. It happens when there is increased pressure within the wrist on a nerve called the median nerve. This nerve provides sensation to the thumb, index, and middle fingers, and to half of the ring finger. The small finger (the “pinky”) is typically not affected. You can often treat it yourself, but it can take months to get better.

Causes:

It causes tingling, numbness and pain in your hand and fingers and wrist swells inside.

Treatment:

Treat carpal tunnel syndrome as early as possible after symptoms start.

For example:

Take more frequent breaks to rest the hands.Avoid activities that make symptoms worse.Apply cold packs to reduce swelling.
Other treatment options include wrist splinting, medications and surgery.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis is where the spine twists and curves to the side.It can affect people of any age, from babies to adults, but most often starts in children aged 10 to 15.
Children and teens with scoliosis have an abnormal S-shaped or C-shaped curve of the spine.

Causes:

1-Certain neuromuscular conditions, such as cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy.
2-Birth defects affecting the development of the bones of the spine.
3-Previous surgery on the chest wall as a baby.
4-Injuries to or infections of the spine.
5- Spinal cord abnormalities.

Treatment:

Physical therapy:

The doctor may recommend physical therapy to help strengthen muscles.

Exercises:

Developing good posture for scoliosis
Pelvic tilts
Cat camel
Double leg abdominal press
Single leg balance
Plank

Frozen shoulder:

Frozen shoulder, also called adhesive capsulitis, involves stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. Signs and symptoms typically begin slowly, then get worse. Over time, symptoms get better, usually within 1 to 3 years. This might happen after having surgery or breaking an arm.

Causes:

1-Frozen shoulder occurs when this capsule thickens and tightens around the shoulder joint, restricting its movement.
2-It's unclear why this happens to some people. But it's more likely to happen after keeping a shoulder still for a long period, such as after surgery or an arm fracture.

Treatment:

Treatment for frozen shoulder involves range-of-motion exercises. Sometimes treatment involves corticosteroids and numbing medications injected into the joint. Rarely, arthroscopic surgery is needed to loosen the joint capsule so that it can move more freely.

Sacral spine
The sacral spine (sacrum) is located below the lumbar spine and above the tailbone, which is known as the coccyx. Five bones that are fused together make up the triangle-shaped sacrum .The main function of the sacrum is to support the weight of the spinal cord superior to it. The sacrum also provides multiple surfaces for muscle attachment in the pelvic region of the body and encases internal organs to shield them from external trauma.

13/01/2022

The cervical spine is the most superior portion of the vertebral column, lying between the cranium and the thoracic vertebrae. The first cervical vertebrae C1 is known as the atlas. The second cervical vertebrae C2 is known as the axis. And the last of the cervical vertebrae, C7 has an extra-long spinous process.
The cervical vertebrae have three main features which distinguish them from other vertebrae:
1) Triangular vertebral foramen
2) Bifid spinous process: This is where the spinous process splits into two distally.
3) Transverse foramina: Holes in the transverse processes. They give passage to the vertebral artery, vein and sympathetic nerves.
The cervical spine functions to provide mobility and stability to the head while connecting it to the relatively immobile thoracic spine
