"FURKNOCK" is a non-profit organization working for the welfare of animals and committed to help with abandoned, injured or neglected animals, committed to rescuing, treatment, management, disease prevention and humane handling, be kind to animals and respect animals.
“FURKNOCK” is the combination of two words FUR means ‘Hair’ and KNOCK means ‘knocking the door’, which means animals need to attention for their help, a sincere wish for the Welfare and provide primary medical treatment for all beings. FURKNOCK was organised to help these countless strays and is help to treatment, spay/neuter and provide urgent veterinary care to these defenceless animals who must live in horrific conditions on the streets of Pakistan. Even small contributions go a large way in Pakistan towards providing much care for cases such as sick, injured, mange, tumors, cancer, dehydration/starvation, most neglected, as well as Spaying/neutering to help reduce future over-population. We want to be the best possible primary care provider to animals and their familes. We promote an enviroment of animals health and well being with people who share common values. Dogs and cats hit with stick by passerby and kicked. They are seen as a nuisance. Animals are died in streets, sick and injured cats & dogs roam the streets. Everyday, the population of cats and dogs on the street in Pakistan is so significant, it is not possible to find loviny homes for even a fraction of them. As much, almost all of them must struggle to survive in harsh conditions on the inhospitable streets in extreme weather, scavenging for food, water, treatment and seeking safety wherever they can. Everyday, countless number of puppies and kittens are born in drains and underneath cars anywhere the mother can find a “safe” place to give birth to their babies, but then they are often drowned in sewage or crushed under the wheel of the cars. There mothers become so exhausted from having litter ofter litter, that they have no strength to feed their babies nor do they often find enough food for themselves. If they are suffering from high temperature and injured they highly need veterinary treatment and care. We are ever mindful of the human/animal bond and our responsibilities to our community our environment and ourselves. Animal welfare and enviroment activities are very close to our hearts.
