The Main Cause of Heartburn
To understand GERD, one will have to first understand how our esophagus (food pipe) and stomach handle food and acid. As the food reaches the lower end of the food pipe, a circular muscle (the LES or lower esophageal sphincter) present around the food pipe opens up and allows the food to enter the stomach. Once it enters the stomach, this muscle closes the lower end of the food pipe. This actually behaves like a one-way valve stopping the food and the acid in the stomach from moving back into the esophagus. In Gerd, this valve relaxes abnormally or weakens, so the stomach acid flows back up into your esophagus very frequently, causing repeated attacks of heartburn.

GERD (acidity) Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) develops when there is a frequent backwash of the stomach acid into the esophagus. Acid reflux or heartburn refers to the burning sensation felt behind the sternum (retrosternal burning) due to the backflow of stomach acid into the food pipe. Homeopathy for acid reflux and GERD helps treat the condition and manage the symptoms effectively.
Gerd if left untreated can lead to a more serious complication called Erosive esophagitis; which in turn can lead to ulceration, bleeding and narrowing of the food pipe.

WINTER MUSCLE CRAMPS When you can easily associate the stiffness in your back and your joints during those cold and wet months of the winter, follow these top tips to keep yourself free of the discomfort.

Usually as the temperature drops, subsided aches in the back, joints and neck areas tend to aggravate and keep you cramped up all winters. Its always good to understand what role the weather plays so that you can help keep yourself pain free in those chilly days.

As the days get colder, our body tends to pump more blood to the vital organs like the heart and the lungs as compared to the distant joints and the spine. This less of blood flow in these areas can be the major cause of the winter pains and cramps that people experience. Also, as the soft tissues surrounding the joints become less flexible in the winters, they stiffen and increase the pain. People feel they are getting cramps, whereas it is the stiffening and tightening of the soft tissues and the joints that gives them a hard time coping up with the weather. Those suffering from arthritis can also feel worsening of their symptoms. The already inflamed joints become even more painful and swollen. The dark and dingy feel of the winters and the short days tend to play a little saddening role on your mood and psyche. Seasonal depression also tends to cause tiredness and fatigue leading to cramps.

If you are sure that your muscle cramps are clearly associated only with the colder days, follow these simple and useful pointers that will help you deal with these tough days and ease your body of the pain:

Get trendy with your winter wardrobe and stock it up with warm gloves, warmers, scarfs and caps to keep yourself snug, so that you can prevent the heat to escape from the cramped areas.

A little exercise always warms you up. You can enjoy cycling, dancing and brisk walking or any other outdoor activity for at least 30 minutes daily to keep your muscles, joints and back geared up and flexible.

No matter what activity you are doing, there is always a correct and good posture to do it in. Follow positions that put less strain on your joints and back. Always let your body define a comfort zone for it to work in.

Avoid straining the painful joints and areas so as to avoid any serious injury. It is always advisable to keep yourself away from any stressful activities that can aggravate the tender regions.

Uplift you mood and keep yourself merry by engaging yourself in some exercise or activity like dancing. When you are mentally happy, your body will respond accordingly.

Drink more fluids and keep your muscles and joints hydrated to avoid cramps due to the dehydration.

So if the cold weather cringes you up and you relate to the onset of muscle and back pains with dipping mercury, listen carefully to your body and keep it warm, happy and worked up so that you can enjoy the chilly winters with a cheer.

Dehydration is a common cause of muscle cramps, and in the winter, water is often replaced with hot beverages like coffee and tea. Though these caffeinated options can help keep you warm, they're diuretics—you actually lose water when you drink them
