The Rise of Zia

Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Islam is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Karachi, Pakistan, who specializes in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the breast, body, and face. His success however, has not come easy and can be attributed to years of hard work, diligence and long hours of practice.

At the young age of 18, Dr. Zia ul Islam was accepted to the prestigious Army Medical College, Rawalpindi where he studied medicine for 5 years. Graduating with honors, he was commissioned in Pakistan Army as Captain, serving for 26 years. After extensive surgical training at CMH Rawalpindi and attainment of fellowships in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, his dedication and surgical talents came to the limelight and he was selected for a specialized training in UK. While in UK he also qualified the Joint Inter Collegiate Specialty Board exam and obtained the diploma of FRCS(Plast) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, London.

Dr. Zia has from the very beginning been committed to helping humanity. He is of the belief that the world needs more kind, just and helpful people to help eradicate the suffering that is abundant in today’s times. In order to help out in whatever way possible, he stayed at the front line of providing medical services during the Siachin Conflict of 1998 and the Kargil Conflict of 1999. When the devastating earthquake struck Kashmir in 2005 and scores of causalities were brought in with major injuries, Dr. Zia performed over 250 plastic surgery procedures.

Performing surgeries and looking after 122 victims of a fire incident at PNS Moawin, he has gained expertise in treating burn victims and making their lives better by helping them regain their confidence!
