Young cardiologists from across the United States visited the Pakistan Cardiac Society booth at the ACC.26 Scientific Session in New Orleans.

Their presence highlighted a shared commitment to collaboration and global engagement in advancing cardiovascular care. It was a privilege to connect, exchange insights, and present the contributions of Pakistan’s cardiology community on an international stage.

Dear Cardiologists,

I’m currently at the exhibition area of the American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Session, where various international chapters have set up their spaces.

I’m excited to share that the Pakistan Cardiac Society also has a small Coordination / Help Desk here.

Since the conference covers a very large area, it can sometimes be challenging to locate specific booths. That’s why I’m doing this live video—to help you easily find us.

To all our Pakistani colleagues—whether you’ve come from Pakistan, are based in the U.S., or are attending from anywhere else in the world—please make sure to stop by our desk.

Our hosts will be there to collect your basic details, helping us facilitate future correspondence and professional networking.

This is more than just a meeting point—it’s an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and strengthen our community.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Thank you.

A public awareness session was successfully conducted at the Press Club, Hyderabad, focusing on Hypertension (HTN), Diabetes Mellitus (DM), and Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) with special emphasis on management during the month of Ramadan.

The session highlighted practical guidance for patients observing fasting, including:
• Risk stratification before Ramadan
• Adjustment of antihypertensive and antidiabetic medications
• Recognition of warning symptoms requiring breaking the fast
• Importance of hydration, dietary moderation, and salt restriction
• Safe physical activity practices
• Adherence to cardiac medications in patients with established IHD

Special attention was given to high-risk groups including elderly patients, those with uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension, and individuals with recent acute coronary syndromes.

The interactive discussion addressed common misconceptions regarding fasting in patients with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases and reinforced the importance of pre-Ramadan medical consultation.

Such community-based initiatives reflect the commitment of the Pakistan Cardiac Society (Hyderabad Chapter) toward preventive cardiology, patient education, and reduction of cardiovascular morbidity through structured awareness programs.
