Pakistan Engineers Association is a platform that is committed to fight for the just rights of engineers and to organize them to actualize their true potential for the betterment of the society. We believe that without rigorous involvement of engineers, the country cannot flourish and a conducive and respectable environment must be provided to engineers in order to harness their fullest potential. We believe that engineers have been exploited brutishly by industrialists and they are compelled to work at very low wages and in very insecure environment therefore our country is experiencing brain drainage. We believe that employment is a right of everyone and unemployment amounts to economical massacre of the working class. Therefore we demand that
1- Every engineer must be given at least Rs. 30,000 as a starting salary
2- Every engineer must be provided medical insurance for his/her dependents.
3- A unified system of scales must be initiated in all private and government organizations.
4- Through laws equal job opportunities are ensured to everyone irrespective to color, creed, religion, language or family background.
5- Complete erosion of nepotism and corruption in induction at all levels in private and government organizations.
6- Number of engineers accredited each years must not accede than job opportunities available. Pakistan Engineers Assiciation

Syed Faraz Liaquat is an engineer, an educationist, and an activist. He has been serving in the field of youth activism since 2009. For the past 13 years, he has empowered youth by building their capacity on life skills and skills for employability. Faraz is also an alumnus of the IVLP program.
It all began in February 2011, when Syed Faraz Liaquat attended a training session titled ‘Youth Leadership and Professional Training Development Program’ organized by Young Social Reformers with support of U.S. Consulate General Karachi. Faraz always wanted to bring a change in the society. This training paved the way for him to become a social activist. He joined Young Social Reformers and worked for youth development. later, he joined Provincial Youth Assembly of Sindh as Opposition Leader and where he learnt about legislation. After seeing his activism, U.S. Consulate General Karachi selected him for the Youth Council of U.S. Consulate General Karachi. Through this platform, Faraz organized many youth events under this Youth Council.
Things were going in the right direction as his excellent performance in work convinced U.S. Consulate General Karachi recommended him for IVLP on the theme titled ‘Young Leaders Activism through Social Media’. His nomination was approved, an interview was taken, and he was all set to visit the States in 2014. During his stay in the U.S., he visited Washington DC, New York, Boston, Seattle, Austin, and Dallas. Faraz had a great meeting with the social media core team of President Barack Obama, who helped him win elections by using social media. He also visited the U.S. Mission Office New York and had a great meeting with Change .org, Digital Blue, 1776, Youth wing of Democrats and Republican Party in Dallas. Faraz also had the privilege of visiting Harvard University and MIT in Boston.
“This IVLP changed my life. After my return from the U.S, I went to Malaysia on an International Youth Exchange Program and then I joined a U.S. based NGO called Global Zero. I have represented Pakistan in the United Nations twice and I owe my success to this life changing journey of IVLP,” shares Faraz.
Faraz has also worked for PUAN as Executive Council Member and as Project Partner for DIYA Project on the theme of interfaith harmony. He was also elected as an Exchange Ambassador at PUAN Karachi Chapter. Till date, he has organized more than 100 workshops and 30 regional & 10 international conferences in Pakistan on various themes.
Woah! Such a big list of achievements in such a short span of time. We wish you best of luck for all the times to come.
