Can a Child Get Cancer from the Mother During Pregnancy?
The short answer is: It is Extremely Rare.
In 99% of cases, cancer does not cross the placental barrier.
The Barrier: The placenta acts as a filter, protecting the baby from maternal cancer cells.
The Exception: In very rare cases (like Melanoma or Leukemia), transmission can occur, but this is historically uncommon.
