Academic Session – Test Zone Diagnostic Centre

An academic session was successfully conducted at Test Zone Diagnostic Centre, Lahore Head Office on the topic:

“GeneXpert Utilization: Gold Standard vs. Sputum Microscopy.”

The session was presented by Ms. Minahil Khan (M. Phil Microbiology), Section Supervisor – Molecular Department & Biosafety Officer, highlighting the role of GeneXpert in rapid detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and rifampicin resistance, along with its comparison to conventional sputum smear microscopy.

The session was attended by senior and junior laboratory staff and conducted under the supervision of Lab Manager Mr. Muhammad Abdullah, reflecting our commitment to continuous professional learning and quality laboratory diagnostics.

Today, a professional training session was successfully conducted at Test Zone Diagnostic Centre (TZDC) under the supervision of Lab Manager Mr. Muhammad Abdullah.

The session focused on Quality Control in Laboratory Testing, covering control materials, their preparation, storage, and proper running protocols for IQC (Internal Quality Control) and EQC (External Quality Control).

The session was presented by youngest Lab Technologist, Miss Laiba Rafiq, and all senior and junior TZDC staff actively participated, demonstrating our commitment to continuous learning, quality assurance, and excellence in laboratory services.

World Kidney Day | Test Zone Diagnostic Centre

گردوں کی صحت جانچنے کے لئے Serum Creatinine test ایک اہم laboratory test ہے جس سے eGFR (estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate) معلوم کیا جاتا ہے اور kidney function کا اندازہ لگایا جاتا ہے۔

روایتی Jaffe method کم خرچ ہونے کی وجہ سے استعمال ہوتا رہا ہے، لیکن اس پر glucose, proteins, ketones, bilirubin اور بعض medications اثر انداز ہو سکتے ہیں جس سے analytical interference پیدا ہو سکتی ہے۔

اسی لئے Enzymatic Creatinine Method کو زیادہ accurate اور reliable سمجھا جاتا ہے کیونکہ اس میں interference کم اور specificity زیادہ ہوتی ہے۔
