Assalamu alaikum,
As an optometrist working at hashmanis Hospital Karachi, I would like to share some valuable insights with fellow optometrists. In this hospital, optometrists are highly disrespected, overworked, and underpaid.
Even the staff and manager of the hospital humiliate optometrists. If a patient misbehaves with them, they are told not to report it, as the patient is the top priority. Recently, a patient misbehaved with me, and the manager blamed me instead of supporting me. The OPD staff, some of whom are only middle school graduates, also disrespect optometrists.
I urge everyone to boycott this hospital and not apply for jobs here. If someone does join, they should demand a good salary and stand up for their respect, refusing to tolerate any misbehavior. Let's assert our worth and stop being humiliated like this.
Before applying or joining any institution, I recommend consulting with colleagues in your profession to gain a better understanding of the work environment and expectations.
